the only functional part of the team was defense, so they jettison everyone on that side.

It’s clear to me, Payton carried this franchise. The amount of stupid things done in one season since he left has surpassed the 15 seasons prior. It’s just embarrassing at this point. I used to think Loomis knew what he was doing but seems like he just got lucky with Payton.

Yup, this is the kind of shite Payton would’ve handled and avoided with a clear direction at seasons end. Payton found a way to keep Nielsen away from LSU after he accepted.

WTF?!?!?! Defense didn't set records this year but they sure were a hell of a lot better than our offense even without Lattimore for a lot of games, Adebo for several games, Maye, Davenport, Werner, and Turner being a healthy scratch. And fricking somehow Carmichael is still employed?!?!?!
