This is so strange. Why not get rid of Richard and promote Nielsen (obviously Nielsen may have still left wanting total control).

And the offense which was dogshit is still in place.

The Saints intend to restructure the defensive coaching staff. Dennis Allen will continue to oversee everything and run that side of the ball. But the team will hire one defensive coordinator, a defensive line coach and a secondary coach, per sources.
Deciding the defensive side of the ball was the one that needed to be blown up is mind boggling.

So we aren’t going to do anything on Offense?

The Bucs interviewed Curry today by the way for OC so it’s possible we lose him.

He was fired by Seattle and thrown out with Garrett in Dallas. Maybe he’s not that good of a coach.

The saints have been outstanding on defense since allen took over. I'm really not sure we don't trust him on that side of the ball. Now I definitely think it's fair game to question why there's been no changes on the offensive side, but I suppose there's still time

Might say something that everyone worth anything is trying to get out ASAP.

Wouldn't mean much if they're getting promotions.

Or it’s the area DA is most comfortable with the assessments and is addressing first. Just because the cuts haven’t started on offense doesn’t mean they won’t come.

Maybe Strief gets cut and replaces Hoss back up in the booth.

It might say we have people working for us that other teams want to offer a promotion to.

Letting Richard go makes lots of sense to me. He is not good enough to be a DC so they are not going to let him be a reason a new DC does not want to take the job.

If Latt is healthy they probably won't. Taylor showed some promise for a rookie but Adebo went way backwards. Safeties were bad as well.

This tells me that Allen wants complete control of the defense. His butt is on the line next year so this is his opportunity to do things his way. We will see how it works.

Idk what we are complaining about with us letting go of Richard. DA is sabotaging himself. These are decisions that get you fired if they don’t work out. This is what we want to get him out and get Caleb Williams.

We need to prepare for a really bad football team next year. The defense will regress and the offense will be worse. This is what we want. This is the only way Loomis is forced to reevaluate his approach and stop looking for the next Sean or for someone that will never question him and inject some new blood into the organization

yeah worried about Abedo.

But I also think that the secondary got hung out to dry too much.

Saints started sacking the QB more towards the end of the season seemed like.

and for all the Chauncey threads on here, I mean the guy plays on a much more talented roster especially up front on the line. It's not close. He absorbs a lot of praise and good for him but he'd a lot lower on the national radar if he had played for the Saints this past season.
