oh, well, thank god!

but for real, your boy has got a serious addiction that he likely won't be able to kick on his own... in fact, he probably shouldn't.... i'd taper down over a month, maybe even longer, and then detox off completely.... that's really the only chance he has of even remotely correcting the rewiring his brain has undergone from years of abuse...

i have experience on both sides the aisle on pharma abuse, fwiw

What's bullshite Ed? Are you saying that isn't what he's prescribed? That I'm lying? I've seen the bottle. It's a qty of 90 per month of 30mg IR. He refills it every 30 days. The supply chain shortage hasn't effected him though. He has a mom n pop pharmacy that has managed to get it in for him every single month on time.

I have 1 other friend that's on the extended release version and seems to do well with it, no abuse. He has bonified ADHD for sure. He told me he'd be bouncing off the walls if he took 60mg's if IR at one time. We've both mentioned to him talking to his Dr about getting on the extended release but he doesn't really want any part of that conversation.

well, before they started doing this, they started cracking down on the manufacturers, drug distributors and pharmacies to decrease availability and hoarding of large quantities of pills...

Yea then Congress changed the rules on how distributors could be investigated and held liable...luckily I think that legislation got overturned not long after it went into effect.

quote:

this has begun, which is why there is a drastic shortage of Adderall available right now... DEA limits raw product manufacturing capability with max quotas, and then keeps tabs on how much distributors are sending out and how much pharmacies are receiving... thus, drug shortage on the open market

Didn't know this....good start but just like with pain meds I hope it doesn't effect people that truly need it and use it as intended.

have an adderall script. This is what I take when I can’t get it or run out of my script. My script is 10 mg. No idea how a Mf can be on 90mg/day and energy drinks constantly and not die of a heat attack

b/c it doesn't give him that intense euphoria like the IR will... that's a tell tale sign that someone isn't just dependent (which happens in the normal course of long term therapy with controlled substances), but actually addicted...

this is actually quite common for adults to get, even though it's complete overkill... many nurses are on this dose, i've noticed

Eventually, the people that take this stuff grow up and get off it.

It takes some people longer than others.

The worst part about these users is their false sense of productivity and increased hubris. They confuse speed fueled activity with productivity and the release of dopamine makes them believe that they are greatest thing that the world has ever been blessed with.

The constant chase for dopamine dumps with useless trivial task completions gets old, quick.

Dude needs a pet fish.

Watch it swim 3X per day. Will do hike some good.

Pink Floyd tunes in doing so is optional.

the over prescribing of Adderall is the new opiode epidimic. My wife is a therapist, the last couple of weeks she has had 3 new clients that have adderall abuse issue. all 3 clients are prescribed 2-3 30mg adderall a day and they over use. No one i mean no one should be prescribed this much adderrall. Its legal meth plan and simple.

i suspect with the shortage, and people not being able to get their routine supply and having to come to grips with their situation, she's likely to get quite a few more, unfortunately

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M AFRAID OF
Yes, it's sad, and sometimes irritating, being around him when he's run out and having withdrawals, but I'll take that any day of the week over visiting him in the hospital one of these days, or worse. He's just got such a false sense of security because it's "prescribed". It's like he thinks of it as any other prescription. It could be an antibiotic for strep throat for all he cares, it's all the same in his mind, prescribed "medicine" from a doctor.

Yes

They take this stuff because they think it makes their life more interesting

News flash: you aren’t gonna work harder and get ahead in life, you aren’t a boomer. You’re just gonna be at the same place in this stagnant fake economy picking taxes for the pedophiles until you die

Grow up and accept your fate

somewhat.... but just from what you've said, about how protective he is about that specific version of Adderall, it's more than just that... trust me on this...

bottom line is, you can't make him get help... that just doesn't work... there are plenty of good NA meetings in BR, though... best you can do is just offer to listen if he ever wants to talk about it

Why don’t you tell him that literally every doctor in America just prescribed a poison shot that causes heart attacks and a lot of them murdered people with ventilators

I don’t know how y’all still trust them
