Yep. Sad. He snapped. He’ll have a good career outside of education.(or in a private education setting)

Yep. Once he realized how far he'd already went then it became "fuk it, no use in stopping now. Time to air it all out".
Hope he survives but with all these parents supposedly "OuTrAgEd!!@!?!@", there's no telling.

Coach went out like a.baw. No way I could put up with the entitlement mentality that he sees daily while working for peanuts.

“if y’all would just turn in your work, y’all would pass.” - Every teacher in the country.
“50% of y’all are failing this class”. Yet 0% of them will receive a failing grade. Being a public school teacher is an exercise in futility.

Neither one of y’all have any clue if he ‘peaked in high school’
frick, you’ve spent a good portion of your life on this stupid site wasting time. So who the frick are you to judge this man and what he says?
Post your personal info. Let the OT comb through your life and see when you ‘peaked’

I bet 100% of kids failing his class are on free meal vouchers at that school.
School meals > Prison meals

That wasn't the right way to handle that IMO, but he certainly seems to have pushed past the point of caring about being fired and wanted to talk to them straight. I can't imagine what it's like to be a teacher in a school where the majority of the kids just don't give a frick, so I won't judge him on it.
So in the words of Chris Rock, I'm not saying he should've done it....but I understand.

Anyone know when this happened and is he still with school?
It happened a day or 2 ago, and from what my son said (student, not in his class), he met with Caddo Parish HR yesterday. This is why my son's in enriched/honors classes. Neighborhood classes are a joke.

Been there and done that.
He is right but not much will change because most people are too comfortable.
Many of those kids will smoke a couple of doobies tonight ,watch some rap videos, get a hook up ,and then have a hot pocket and crash.
A few have serious goals, a few .
When I taught in the inner city schools of Beirut Rouge weekly I would talk about their plans after high school. One or two wanted to attend Southern. Many wanted to be a NBA player or NFL. Some wanted to drive a dump truck.
But a lot wanted to be rappers and sling weed on the corner.
They were not interested in quadratic equations, the Missouri Compromise,or the Ransom of Red Chief.

This is what (in my experience) public education has become post-COVID shutdowns. The bar can’t be lowered any more. We’ve actually dug a shallow trench and buried the bar. Any teacher who talks about this openly is told by administration and central office that we just have to do more for these kids. The majority of the kids are doing little to nothing and laughing their asses off.
Two more years!!

I would strongly advise you to get out while you can. I don’t foresee things getting any better because the decision makers who could change things refuse to acknowledge the problem. I’m 28 years in or I would definitely be looking for something else.
