This.

I have several pre-med students in the lab. They are all up in arms over the new pass/fail systems at various med schools. No one knows how that will affect residencies...and that is ultimately what determines your fate in the profession.

No, and the left will tell you our medical care sucks here, which also coincides with it becoming more diverse.

Removing IQ tests would improve diversity in Mensa.

MDs are now dominated by women, Asians, and Indians

You gotta be in the top 1% or have your mommy/daddy etc make a call to get in Med School today if you are a white boy

What? If Asians can do it, why can't white boys?

I presume Asians aren't connected enough to have mommy/daddy call the medical school.

Affirmative action is pretty much going to be ruled unconstitutional within the next 5 months so it should mostly be a level playing field after that point.

I had no idea this was the case now. That makes me more angry than the mcat. The mcat is a joke compared to step 1, which is a rite of passage and has been a key part of securing a good residency. I studied full time for step 1 for nearly six weeks.

I hate the direction all of this is going in from med school applications to med school, residency application, residency work hour restrictions, all the way through. They are making our doctors dumber and lazier every year.

I have been in the medical sales field longer than I wish to admit and been involved in training “ surgeons to be” in labs etc….. the make up of the classes has changed immensely even exponentially in the last 5 years…. Ain’t gonna be many heart surgeons left by the time you cracklin eating baws need one.

This person is a true racist!

She is opening stating that black and Latino people are not smart enough to pass the MCAT. I do not believe that.

Where is the outrage?

Next step, no testing in school to see if you should advance in medical school, that restricts diversity according to the arguments being put forth.

Follow that up with no board exams, right?

You mean ignorant stupid people?

You didn't just call a black person ignorant did you??? Can't believe it...we know what you meant to say you racist. Thou shalt be banned for saying such things.

As to the OP....Latinos need to start telling blacks to stop including them in their race war whining. In my lifetime I've had a mix of white and Latino men doctors, so this is an issue with public schools more than anything as that's hurting the statics just as much. Kids doing great at bad public schools, and being told they "can be anything they want"...then reality hits when they are faced with a real classroom.

Heck I just heard some conjoined twins in TX were seperated yesterday and the Dr was an American-Latino. Ohh..this Newsweek dude needs to reach out to Ben Carson to see what a black person can do to get into medical school.

Let's not forget...all this is brought to us by white guilt cucks. That's who we need to fight.

Sounds like the medical, and law, industries need to have a parallel economy created. Schools/hospitals that have legit traditional requirements vs the ones that don't. Make sure doctors, and lawyers, required to put on their resumes if they got to where they are via the traditional or woke way.

People can call me racist all they want if my doctors keep me alive and healthy and lawyers keep me out of jail/trouble and contracts written properly. I'm getting to the point where dealing with only straight Christian white/white-hispanic men with verifiable creds, is the only route I'll feel comfortable dealing with.

Yeah, this helps turn U.S. medicine into the parallel of going to Tijuana for a discount transplant.

Same with flight training school.
Airlines should start prioritizing diversity among pilots.

Another reason docs are getting lazy. Red tape increases and reimbursements go down. If I didn’t match into a lifestyle field I wouldn’t not be in practice clinically, it’s not worth the poor pay and liability in the majority of medical fields.
