Why would a self proclaimed Fortune 500 executive care about vehicle prices? Doesn’t matter considering your “executive” salary, right?

Seeing $50-$70k for low mileage used trucks and 80-100K for new. Obviously with the chip shortage and lack of production the values are up. When do you see thinks correct themselves? I need a truck but can wait another year. I’m thinking fall of 2023 but that’s just a shot from the hip. Anyone got the inside scoop?

All the Ford trucks that were piled up at that racetrack waiting on chips are almost all gone now. Inventory should be high soon. If inflation keeps going up expect the bottom to fall out in the next 6 months as dealers are stuck with a glut of inventory and few buyers.

I wish you could still buy a basic, single cab v8, manual trans, 4x4 truck with a floor 4wd shifter and manual windows. No frills, nothing to frick up, just a good work truck

Base SR5s are in the mid 50s. Limited and Platinums are low 60s to high 60s.
Our dealership has no markup over msrp.
We sell them before they make it to the lot though.

They just aren't making many Siennas right now. We get about 1 Sienna for every 100 Camrys.

Aren’t the Dodge tradesman pretty no frills?

Biggest thing for me is that the engines are too complicated to appease CAFE standards. This leads to too many moving parts to break.

I just bought a new car for a couple thousand below MSRP. With the increase in loan interest rates, dealers are willing to deal on price to match other companies that offer below market interest rates (like Hyundai).

The higher interest rates are pushing prices back.

Doesn’t help that soccer moms insist on buying $60k Tahoes instead of the $30k minivans they really need.

That's fine. I'll sit on the list until 2024 waiting. Eventually they'll find one. Just me alone...paying $60,000 for a tricked out minivan.

I really don't care how long it takes. My wife and kids have a great vehicle. This would just he a better vehicle for our expanding family.

Well... what sucks is right now your money is worth less than it was a couple years ago, so now isn't a good time to drop it on a car (which is already a big expense.)

If you're going to finance it, then it definitely isn't the best time. Interest rates are expected to continue to rise over the coming year. I suppose eventually they'll come down as inflation drops, but who knows when that will be.

If I was buying a car today, I'd just pay cash. If that means getting something less desirable, then so be it.

Yes but I’m not sure if you can get the manual or the V8 in it. I’m too lazy to look it up.

I know GM won’t sell you a 6.2L V8 unless you buy a high end truck. At least Ford will offer any engine in any trim level.

What's the average income for a person that buys a 55-65k truck? Genuinely curious

The leftists in government wants to make vehicles unaffordable. This isn’t a coincidence.

And the car manufacturers don't really care about making profits, right?

The ones that I've sold were to men late 30s and up. 130k+ individual $200k+ for household.

About 1 out of 5 just pay cash for them.

It's crazy to me that even American made SUVs and trucks are status symbols now. Those used to be the common man's vehicle

Seems about right. I always feel guilty spending that much on myself. I had this feeling like I should be putting it aside for my kids' education; paying off mortgage, or buying another piece of property, etc. I guess it's all a matter of where you put your priorities.

They still are... albeit they're used.

How is your inventory for Highlanders? Sales guy here told me they are selling them as soon or even before they are unloaded.
