We beat OU so bad that they had numerous posts on their OU message boards and here as well about the state of Louisiana having slaves from 200 years making the biggest and fastest babies. When a program resorts to this, you know you beat them so bad that you destroyed their will and sanity. That team was that good, so no, in the grand scheme of things Clemson could not have won that game 10 out of 10 times...barring no major injuries of course.

They could’ve played in a gravel lot in Canada and won.

Zero. That team should be revered. Tear up when you tell your grandkids about it type team. Didn't matter in Austin or Tuscaloosa or Atlanta. Feel like Joe and the boys would've loved to take that game to the fake valley and drag nuts on that gay arse rock.

If anything, erasing the stain of 2011 was more of a factor than playing at “home.”

My wife didn’t understand why I stopped on the steps outside of the Dome and stared at it lit up in purple and gold. I told her the last time I left it was red and I’m just making sure I remember this view.

None. They'd have beaten Clemson in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Clemson, Beijing, Moscow, or anywhere else that game could have been played.

I remember the quotes that went around from (anonymous) opposing coaches that asked, "If you had it to do (play LSU) all over again, what would you do differently?"

One of the responses was, "I'm not sure. I guess just not play them." I think the consensus was that was Kirby.

And that says it all.

How much did it matter for us to get the W? None. That freaking team could have played the game at Clemson and still won.

Sentimentally it mattered a little probably. It made it easier for LSU faithful to make the game and probably raised ticket prices on the secondary market.

It didn't matter where we played that game. You can look at the NFL right now and see how well they're all doing and realize if you put them all on one NFL team, they have a chance of going pretty deep in the playoffs. That's something.

I only wish I could have seen them play live more than twice that year.

Ironically, I think LSU would probably have done better in 11 somewhere other than Nola.

It certainly would have helped the drunk who was assaulted with Gump testicles if it wasn't in NOLA.

I will say it really throws off the juju this years national championship not being in NOLA.

03
07
11
15* not in Nola, LSU breaks 4 yr national title cycle
19
23* not in Nola

All of the above championship appearances were in NOLA. Throws off the cycle this year’s championship being in Houston. I don’t like it.

Ask Ga. fans if they think its advantage to play in Atlanta every year for the SECCG, and this year the NCG.

It mattered most in 2003 imo since neither the LSU program nor Saban were yet established as to what we’d become. Our opponents in 2007 and 2019 were just way overmatched and we’d have still won convincingly anywhere.

2011 is really the most interesting. I have wondered if it’d have been different if that NCG were played anywhere else

There were a ton of cool stats that year, but the coolest 2 to me were these:

Prior to 2019, LSU won 3 National Championships. The post season opponents in those three were Clemson, Ohio State and OU… all of whom made the playoffs in 2019

All of LSU’s national titles have come when the final post season game was in New Orleans.

That stat is crazy! All the Natty’s played for were in NOLA, even ‘58 we played Syracuse in Sugar Bowl stadium and yes I know they voted before bowls back then but had to be nice to put an undisputed bow on it with a bowl win! Even the one that got away (‘11) was there. Something about LSU Football ?? and party ?? city NOLA I guess that screams IM #1 BITCH!!!!!!!!

Probably? They “probably” would have beaten them by 15 points.

Nah, It was a butt whipping no matter where we played , Honestly if the Lineman doesn’t go downfield on that deep pass to moss on the first drive , We probably go down score and the game would’ve been over early , Having to punt out of our end zone and Clemson getting good field position kept them in a game for a Quarter

That team would have won in Siberia.
