As torrential rainfall continues to batter the West coast, you may be wondering how all of this wet weather is affecting California's wildlife. In Australia at the end of last year, heavy rain and floods caused snake sightings to soar across the country—could the same thing happen in California?
"Rapidly rising flood water from heavy rain can displace wildlife, including rattlesnakes," Bryan Hughes, owner of Arizona-based snake rescue service Rattlesnake Solutions, told Newsweek. "This can mean that in some areas, there will be a temporary increase of the likelihood of random encounters."

Even the snakes are smart enough to avoid urban areas in California.

This is click bait at it's best.

This article made me lol. It's so ridiculous. It's bee-ish but they are serious.

Are they escaping from the state house or governor’s mansion?

didn't read the article but heavy rains/flooding does displace wildlife, I by no means live in the sticks but I've seen, bobcats(I could have kicked its arse,) deer, coyotes, foxes, and a rattlesnake in my neighborhood after a few days/weeks of heavy rain

No doubt. But not a deluge.

I'm good with a snake plague on California.

California: Wahhh, it's too dry, it's not raining enough
Also California: Wahhh, it's raining too much, we have snakes
Jesus. Get over it California.

So there's gonna be King Browns and Inland Taipans slithering all over Cali? I'd pay to see that.
