Ever notice how COVID vaccine commercials are the ONLY medicine commercials that don't have 28 seconds of side effect warnings that include death?

Thought this tweet was a great point. I just realized it. Some good responses, too.
Such as
quote:

They couldn’t find a speed talker fast enough to list them all in only 28 seconds.

It’s because they’re telling you to get vaccinated, they’re not promoting a specific vaccine. It’s a government subsidy for the vaccines in form of a PSA

I noticed that too, as yet another med was touted last night for some ailment, but the speed talker said could cause dry mouth, sweats, kidney inflammation, hot flashes, chills, headaches, nausea, death, blurred vision, paper cuts, watery eyes, dry eyes, temporary deafness, etc

Notice that they are also being promoted through the public service route not by the drug companies.

The Ad Council PSA's should be eradicated.

They’re not advertising a specific vaccine. That’s the workaround to listing the side effects.

Here are two vaccine ads (Gardasil and Shingrix) that don't list specific side effects. There are probably different regulations for vaccine and medication advertising. I found some for Shingrix marketed to women that listed some specific side effects, so it must be at manufacturer discretion.

Gardasil

Shingrix

ever notice how just about any YT commercial allows it to be skipped early sometimes, but the VAX ads NEVER EVER ONCE have the "skip ad" button come up?

Listing the side effects are done to shield producers from law suits. If the consumer had the side effects communicated, then they knowingly accepted the risk. As you follow baby powder, herbicide, and most tv advertised lawsuits, the date of hazard recognition shifts proof of nexus from plaintiff to company.

The federal government gave the drug manufactures a total pass on liability as incentive to invent/produce faster.

Liability is part of it, but unless this has changed recently direct-to-consumer pharmaceutical ads are required to list major side effects.

Does anyone know the legal requirements with respect to vaccines?

You should have lived in Georgia during this last cycle. Nearly every YT ad was a senate election ad. You couldn't skip Warnock ads, but you bet your arse you could skip the Herschel ones. Noticed that towards the end of October and it continued through the run-off.

Big Tech is gonna make sure you get the ads they want you to get.

If a Direct to Consumer Advertisement (DCTA) TV/radio ad mentions the name of the drug AND the indication then it also must include a "major statement" (the most important risks.)

There is also what is called a "Reminder Ad", which only mentions the name of the drug and "ask your Dr if XX is right for you".... Because they don't mention indication/what the drug is for, they do not have to list risks.

Ah but actually, that first one doesn't mention Gardasil at all. Only mentions the dangers of HPV and that you should ask your doctor if "an HPV vaccine is right for you."
That is what is called a " help-seeking" ad.

This seems obvious to anyone who isn't a moron

Each vaccine will have different side effects

That's why I laugh when people say "the clot shot" as if there is only one vaccine out there
