Well if they have nothing to trade they don’t get him. Or is there some rule I don’t know about that says we have to make special accommodations for the Rams??

Loomis can act like he won’t give Payton away but if Payton dug his heels in and said he only wanted to go to the Rams then the Saints have a difficult choice to make.

And being they are a club that needs picks and players, they probably make the trade with the Rams if that’s what he wants.

So many here seem to forget that Payton has to pick the spot where he wants to go and then the saints can negotiate. The saints can’t just traded him to whatever team they want.

The fact that the Rams mortgaged their future to win last years Super Bowl should tell you that isn’t somewhere Payton would want to go. He left the Saints largely because of the way they (he of course was a huge part of that) kept kicking the can down the road. The Rams are in an even worse spot. Can’t imagine he would seriously consider that job.

No, the Saints could trade his rights. It’s just no team would do that unless they had an agreement with Payton done.

There have been reports out there that he doesn't want the job. I doubt he would pass if offered but who knows

He can get a better job imo. I think he has quietly turned them down.

I don’t think there was any doubt Staley would be gone if they lost. Then to lose in the fashion they did. Hopefully they let him fly home with the team.

Now Schefter saying the Panthers have permission to interview Payton

Man... I REALLY don't want him in the NFC... let alone the NFC South

It would certainly cost the panthers #9 and their 1st next year. They won't pay that, but if they did, I'm down

Looks like Ole Payton got some shitty options. Houston and Carolina are utter trash. AZ and Den have huge question marks at QB. At this point might as well sit out another year or go back to the Saints.

Man we all know how Sean Payton thinks. He thinks he could have any one of those teams competing by year 2.

It’s also two teams with little to no history. Sean can have basically total control at both and build the team as he wants. People that think he wants a ready made squad are misguided

Yea I mean the last time he had his hands on a top 5 pick it was 2006, and this whole shite started with the saints.

That was one hell of a draft class.

That 7th round was ridiculous, & will probably never happen to us again. Seriously, Strief & Colston.

CSP wearing a Carolina blue tie on Fox Pregame show. Also CSP has put on some serious weight while he has been retired.
