I think Mel Gibson did his time, but you can’t blame them for melting. I think you’d ideally like people that don’t offend anyone, if such a person even exists anymore.

The litmus test I’ve adopted for “news” that apparently shocks or angers people is, “Would anyone give a shite if social media didn’t exist?”
In other words, if there was no platform for these people to virtue signal to a large audience would they ever actually mention it in a real life setting? If not, move on; ignore it. It’s faux outrage. They don’t really care about what’s happening. They care about you thinking they care.

For real though, Mel Gibson made one drunken rant like 17 or so years ago, and despite never doing anything anti-semitic in that entire time (at least that I know of), he’s basically being compared to Hitler. It’s pretty ridiculous.
