My first season of tickets was 1958...with the ball in his arm Cecil Collins was the best...what a waste of talent..sad.

Wendell Davis was the best receiver LSU ever had until Chase and Jefferson.

1st in career receptions
2nd in Most receptions in a game
2nd in career receiving yards.

Is this a thread where we pretend LSU Football started in 2000?

Replace Clayton with Jamar Chase and look at replacing Jefferson with Dwayne Bowe

Defense, you have to have Pat Peterson, Glenn Dorsey, Honey badger (as a safety or nickel), Devin White, Laron Landry, Bradie James, and Corey Webster

Not sure who else as we’ve had so many stud DL, backers, and DB’s.

I would have a hard time not putting Dalton Hilliard somewhere on that list. I'd give consideration to Eric Martin, also. Agree with the Michael Brooks statement, also.

You should add “since 1990”.

Wendell Davis is on the receiver list.

Henry Thomas on the dline and ANY team without Michael Brooks, Casanova, Cannon and Stovall is not close to being complete. Doc is a starter over any corner or safety not named Peterson and it isn’t close. He was BIG fast and hit like a ton of bricks.
Cannon was BIG Strong and VERY FAST and would play RB TODAY at LSU and NFL. People have no clue how big and fast these guys were.

I'll restrict mine to the era of football I'm familiar with ('70 and above).

QB -Burrow (HM: JaMarcus Russell)
RB - Kevin Faulk
RB - Fournette (HM: Dalton Hilliard - my all-time favorite player)
WR - Wendell Davis
WR - Josh Reed
WR - JaMarr Chase
OT - Whitworth
OG - Faneca
C - Mawae
OG - Andolsek (HM: Trai Turner)
OT - La'el Collins

DL - Michael Brockers
DL - Glenn Dorsey
DL - Chad Lavalais
DL - Leonard Marshall
LB - Devin White
LB - Bradie James
LB - Michael Brooks
CB - Patrick Peterson
CB - Tre White
S - Tyrann Mathieu
S - Eric Reid*
CB - Mike Williams

P/PK - Josh Jasper (one man wrecking ball who could do it all - on-side kicks, KOs, punt, FGs, fake FGs, fake punts)

* IMO, this is the most crowded position on the field. There have been so many great safeties (Chris Williams, Liffort Hobley, Greg Jackson, LaRon, Chad Jones, Adams, Delpit) but Reid was my favorite. We're on opposite ends of the political spectrum which soured some fans but his int vs Bama in TGOTC was one of the most spectacular plays I've seen and will mostly go forgotten because of you know what.

Did LSU football start in the 1990's?? Some of you need to talk to your older dad's, grandads or even great-grandads to find out about some LSU legends from the past!

The thought of what leonard fournette would do running behind that oline is frightening. Unstoppable.
