We are now a three party country

There is no compromise here. The GOP is officially divorced.
There is nothing that these 20 will accept. This is not about McCarthy. There isn't anyone that these 20 will accept, except maybe one of their own.
And the remaining GOP reps won't accept one of the 20.
These 20 should resign from the GOP effective immedately and announce their own party.
Because these 20 don't have any actual power except to put up roadblocks... we will end up with a coalition house. We are at a point where the majority of GOPers would rather share power with the Dems than with these 20.
And you can bet there will be reprecussions.
When this split happens, with our stupid pularity system for electing congress, there will be a lot more democrats who are elected, as the GOP splits into two parties.
Those of you who wanted a third option... it's here. Let's see if things get better or worse from here on out.

Burn. It. Down.
GOP is trash.
GOP is trash.

Can’t get worse, maybe a faster pace

Melt.
The Founding Fathers would've burnt this motherfricker to the ground a dozen times over rather than see it have devolved into this flaming shite show on ice.

Yeah, don't know where you got your talking points from but this isn't true AT ALL...

It's a small group to be called a "party"
We will see how they do in re-elections, or, if their shenanigans make the GOP a permanent minority party

This is a classic Constanza moment.
Anything LSUFanHouston is for is usually bad.

I’d rather just shut down Congress entirely.
Permanently.
It’s not like our system of checks and balances is respected and abided by anyway.

Maybe so.
I guess 247 years was a good run.

This IS about McCarthy and there IS/ARE things they will accept. A different SOTH.
And there are options for a different SOTH that would be acceptable to everyone except most feel it's McCarthy's "Turn".
And the 20, and most Americans feel that the slimy swamp McCarthy worked his way up through to get to be his "Turn" is what stinks about him.

Nah, KM will step aside. His own backers will turn on him enough that he folds.

Who will BOTH sides accept?

You nailed it. We’re just slow rolling the downfall with this current GOPe in place, anyways. Let’s send them a F-U with a 3rd party and get the party started.

I’m sorry that congress actually doing their job and following the process instead of electing KM bc it’s his turn gives you such angina.
Sadly, this only shows how rare it is this happens.

It probably won't go down this way, but there's something of an 1855 vibe going on. Back then you had a major party collapsing and a transitional nativist plot-obsessed small party getting rolling...
