re: 2023 Spring Garden Thread

I need to take some pictures of one of the issues I'm having. Tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, beans, and zucchini are all doing great. However my squash not so much. I have three tromboncino vines. Two of them are staying small but look great. One is about 4 feet tall now and has turned yellow - both leaf and vine. All of the female fruit sprouts shriveled and died at about an inch long - not related to pollination. I had one get pollinated a few weeks ago, and grew to about 6 inches long, then died.

My three zephyr plants are doing ok, but the roots are very loose in the soil. Never had that happen before. They have been getting a healthy serving of P and K.

I do have a lot of low growing weeds in that bed since I didn't have time to spread mulch. I am also dealing with a massive cucumber beetle population. I can't get a cantaloupe flower open long enough to be pollinated before they devour it.

Not sure if the cucumber beetles infected my squash plants with something, but It doesn't look to be a wilt of any kind. I've been modest with watering and am showing no signs of under watering. I fertilized with garden tone every few weeks like normal for the last couple months. With a light root drench of miracle grow once per month since March.

This happened all of a sudden after the third root drench 1.5 weeks ago.

I'll try to snap some pictures this afternoon. I'm stumped on this one since my zucchini and everything else in my garden is looking great.


Also, this is my first year growing Amelia tomatoes and... bravo... solid growth, impressive fruit set, and they taste pretty darn good too. I do believe these will be a regular going forward since they've been so easy.
