We usually skip the traditional since it's so close to Thanksgiving.
Going steaks and crab legs. Cajun corn, roasted broccoli, and baked taters.

Prime rib, homemade mashed potatoes, a vegetable (undecided), salad, and dessert.

It's just us two each year on Christmas Day.
Brunch is sausage balls, pepper jack boudin balls, cinnamon rolls, and eggs.
Dinner is salad, turtle soup, NY strip, crab and cheese stuffed chicken breast, spinach madeleine, twice baked potato, mac and cheese.

SoB neighbors dogs ate the turkey so we are going to try the Christmas special at the local Chinese place.

Sadly, I think all the ones nearby have closed down.

Nothing.
And I’m starting to regret it.

I have been asking around for the same reason. I'll get out there soon and give it a try. Someone said the owner is from the Lafayette area, which is promising.

Going to extended family's house on Christmas Eve, which is always a huge spread. So far I've heard gumbo and a ham. I'm bringing smoked gouda pimento dip and also crab and brie dip.

No Golden Corral?
We did Golden Corral for Thanksgiving here in Baton Rouge. It was surprisingly good.
There's two actual reasons for this new tradition:
1. My parents hosted Thanksgiving for last 45 years. It's been just my mom now for the last 4 years and she's 77 yrs old. She was growing tired of the work that goes into preparing/cooking, hosting, cleaning up.
2. My mom loves Golden Corral. And she gladly paid for 14 of us to enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner as it came out cheaper than hosting a real Thanksgiving and her house was still clean and tidy when she got home.
