Would you rather walk through New Orleans and Baton Rouge or would you rather drive through those cities?

Id rather drive through both in the Bat mobile

I see people walk or jog almost every time I drive around town

I guess one advantage of not having a car means you can't have your car broken into, am I right?

In no way is BR a “walkable city.” The thought is actually comical. Everything is way too spread out, unsafe areas, and the weather is trash

when I think of walkable cities I think of larger metros like NYC, LA, London and such
I like the concept of getting rid of cars in certain districts. Would be pretty cool if NYC closed portions of Manhatten or Brooklyn.

When my husband was hired by one of the NOLA oil companies, he bought a building in the Quarter so he could walk to work. (His tendency to fall asleep on long drives contributed to this decision.)
We left NOLA a couple of years before the companies, for the most part, chose to move their personnel elsewhere.
Right now, no way in hell would he walk to or from work downtown, even if the jobs were still there.

People who don't live in crime infested, shithole cites enjoy the option of walking/biking around town.
It's kinda funny that outside of some NE cites, college campuses are basically the only "walkable" areas in most cites.
If you are in a city and it feels "alive", you are probably in a walkable city.

What's funny is the "walkable cities" people are the same ones that hate chain stores, restaurants, etc... but if everything had to be within walking distance for people without vehicles, then there would have to be even MORE of those places.

I don't hear the citizens of Mayberry clamoring that everyone needs to ditch their cars and all cities should be walkable. In fact, the only people I hear that from are those that live in crime infested shithole cities. Odd bunch.

Many of your fat slobs should be living in more walkable cities.

If only BR had a school or industry to help this become a reality.

Not their body / their choice?

I'd rather be able to walk through both. You people are just scared of everything.

100% walk through New Orleans.
Baton Rouge isn't really a walkable city.
I love how you put "walkable cities" in quotes like it's a foreign concept to you

The west side of the canal in New Orleans is walkable. You can traverse the city in a little over an hour truly walking.
With a bit of mass transit that number can drop dramatically. Would walk through almost anywhere in NOLA, some neighborhoods obviously wouldn't.
New Orleans is mostly walkable, but there are outlying areas that make ot difficult. True about any city I guess.
