I don't know what is more impressive, how many days you hunt consecutively, rain or shine, or how early you get in your stand

What makes you decide between .257 and .300 each day?

Hanging in the saddle battling mosquitos. Seen 2 deer as Im typing this. Shot at a doe yesterday evening, I think I grazed her back. Found a little hair and a little meat on the arrow but no blood and she walked off like nothing happened. I would’ve much rathered a clean miss.

Backyard hunting huh? I have several in my backyard that I watch from my back porch. I have thought about a crossbow many times

The 300 gets the call when longer shots are possible. It’s an Accumark which is about two pounds heavier than the Ultralight 257. They’re both accurate, but I’m more accurate with the heavier rifle, all and all. Same action and ballistics, so it’s easy to hunt with both rifles. I really like the 257 out West because of the weight.

Sitting behind the computer and living vicariously through you fellows.
Fed the cats, but I'm not going outside anymore today until I have to.
Temperature = -20 Degrees
Wind NW at 27 & gusting higher
Wind chill calculator says "Old Wind Chill" = -75 & "New Wind Chill" = -52
Enjoy your mosquitos.
