Am I the only one that is triggered by this statement every time it is shown?

I get that we are supposed to hate them for claiming that one but in reality though we were better that year imo, the next year for them kind of showed that the 2003 team was pretty damn good. It isn't improbable that they would've beaten us. Right situation, badly.

It's sad for a university to claim a NC when they know who hoisted the crystal ball. It's the behavior you would expect from a 3 year old.

Funny thing is they won it neither year. When creating the BCS, every school agreed that the BCS would be the only recognized national champion. They were stripped of the 2004 NC. So they haven’t actually won one since 1978.

The stupid part was people saying USC should’ve been in instead of LSU. Their beef was with Oklahoma getting in, not us.

It does bother me, but I take it up with the AP and the BCS more than I do USC fans. The AP voted them #1 and I know if LSU was in that position we'd claim it too.
After Sproles and Kansas State whipped OU 35-7 it should have been USC-LSU in that Sugar Bowl. Just like Nebraska shouldn't have played Miami in 2001 after Colorado beat them 62-36, it should have been Miami-Oregon.
shite like that is why we're going to real playoffs with conference champs getting auto bids. Settle it on the field, winning your conference matters, and splits will never happen again

04 was vacated (see Reggie Bush), 03 was mythical, 05 would have been vacated had they won it.

it bothered me in 2003 when I was 21 years old. Now that I am looking down the barrel of 40, I really dont give a shite. We will always be recognized as the BCS National Champion. We have the trophy and a flag flying in Tiger Stadium. Thats all that really matters.
The BCS Computers really fricked up that year. The NC game should have been LSU vs USC. But they favored Oklahoma and we won that game. It is what it is.
