This is why you keep your friends and coworkers separate.

Wait until the wife comes in during lunch and destroys the husband's office...

4 of us got back to the office from lunch together and everyone was just staring at us as we walked in (really just staring at the one guy but we didn't know) his was the first office we came to and he about shite. All his diplomas and certs had been destroyed along with everything else personal in his office. She carved "cheater" into his $20k antique desk he spent a second fortune on having restored. To her credit, she didn't bother any client files or mess with any firm property.

I've seen this movie before. It's going to end up as your fault! Polish up that resume!

Sounds to me like you’re a tad jealous you weren’t the one she was making out with.

You're being an awfully big faq about something pretty insignificant.
It's not like she sucked off the co-worker or they got caught fricking.

When it comes to the office, just keep your mouth shut and stay in your lane, if possible.

I know in my last position, the workplace was toxic and there was plenty of drama, with a culture of talking behind others' backs.

The whole environment, which I did get caught up in at times, made me realize how important it is to keep your mouth shut about coworkers. There's NOTHING good that can come out of it.

Just don't gossip, do your job, and go home.

This is why you should marry a LLOTOT - They would never make out with another dude.

Long story short:

I got caught up in the office drama/gossip today. I'm close One of our co-workers (who is older and married with 2 kids) apparently was making out with another co-worker at party a couple of weeks ago. I was at the party but didn't see any of this.

My IRL friend and co-worker texted me this while I was on the phone with her for some work related stuff and I blabbed out "Apparently someone married was making out with another co-worker at a party"

Yeah it was her and she hung up pretty quick. Thought it was weird until my friend texted me that it was her.

frick my life.

This could have been a 3 sentence story.

Don’t worry about it. Really, you’re making this drama happen. As a veteran of many a Xmas party, let me reassure you: these things happen. And life goes on.
It’s that season.

One of the oilfield companies I used to work for was known as "the mating place".

Plenty of sexy ladies worked there during the time I worked there

Socrates, one of the greatest Greek philosophers, who lived from 469 – 399 BC, shunned gossip. It is said that one day he came upon an acquaintance who ran up to him excitedly and said, “Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students?”
“Wait a moment,” Socrates replied. “Before you tell me I’d like you to pass a little test. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.”
“Triple filter?” his friend asked.
“That’s right,” Socrates continued. “Before you talk to me about my student let’s take a moment to filter what you’re going to say. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”
“No,” the man said, “actually I just heard about it and…”
“All right,” said Socrates. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?”
“No, on the contrary… “
“So,” Socrates continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him, even though you’re not certain it’s true?” The man shrugged, a little embarrassed. Socrates continued. “You may still pass the test though, because there is a third filter – the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?”
“No, not really,” the man admitted.
“Well,” concluded Socrates, “if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?”

you don't have anything to worry about if all you said was
quote:

Apparently someone married was making out with another co-worker at a party"

You weren't the actual drama, and you didn't name any names.
It's a company party. If people want to be stupid and mess around, they should also be prepared the hear some gossip about it because that's what is going to happen.
