Civil rights attorneys call for criminal investigation into Colorado Springs officers

They pulled him over for no license plates, then smelled weed and saw a knife in the console so they called and waited for backup and wanted him to exit the car. He refused and fought with police trying to remove him. So he hires a civil rights attorney. Same old story.

If the police don’t have anything to hide, why would they object to an investigation?

alcohol is legal too. but, not while driving.

This is why it was better when weed was illegal. The scent was enough for reasonable suspicion. With it being legal, it makes things harder.

Smell of marijuana isn't enough to conduct a search in CO.
Know your rights when dealing with da blue.

Drug-sniffing police dogs in Colorado may need new training if they can detect marijuana, after a ruling last week by the Colorado Court of Appeals that sets a new precedent for drug cases.
A three-judge panel agreed that if a drug-sniffing dog is trained to alert officers to marijuana and other drugs, cops need more cause to search a vehicle without permission.

You're telling me that it's ok to get high and drive in CO but drinking will get you in the pen? I'm glad I'm not living in that shithole.

Weed or not. If the stop was legal which it appears it was , then you are obligated to exit the vehicle if requested

FYI as of August 1st the smell of weed is no longer probable cause to search your home in Louisiana.
Vehicles are still fair game.
