Beware of New Frigidaire Appliances

They came with the home we bought 2 years ago. This year already had to replace a control panel on the stove and drain motor on the dishwasher. Will be buying whirlpool or another brand when ready to replace them.

Welcome to the world of modern appliances.

I'll be honest. All new appliances are shite. Yes the new Electrolux is bad but so is the GE and LG has to do 10 year warranty on their compressors because they had so many lawsuits.
There are issues with whirlpool too but they are the better of the basic brands.
If you have a fridge made between 1995 and 2006 try and keep it going.

GE too. I bought a Cafe series for the beach house in July and have lost the contents twice already. They have sent 3 contractors out with no resolution.
Meanwhile, the 25 year old fridge under the house just keeps on chugging.

Electronic washers and dryers are horrible

GE bothers me now. You have to him the machine up to the internet to do most repairs. Change the fan? Need to update the pcb on the internet.
Must also have modems and connect wifi. Some have have expressed worry about a Chinese company (Haier owns GE appliances) having a constant internet connection in customers homes.
The dishwashers by them are the worst.
I really hate GE. I dislike LG I hate GE. The changes they've made since being acquired are all for the worse. Plus I hate having to pay $600/yr for access to their software.

The more tech they put into these things so they'll be more energy efficient ("green") the more shite there is to break.

My last set of appliances were all maytag.
The dishwasher mother board went bad in 3 months. The oven and refrigerator have worked flawlessly 10yrs running.
Replaced the maytag dishwasher with a Bosch which has been excellent and still quiet.

I'll be honest. All new appliances are shite

People say it about cars and are wrong. But I'll be honest with you since the inception of the Energy Star raring it is a FACT that machines don't last as long. Hell you still see tons of 9ps and early 00s whirlpool direct drives changing hands. Because that was the last of the solid analog machines.
Yes in the 80s they started introducing solid state controls to some machines and that created problems. But since 2006 there has been an obvious decline in the longevity of machines.
The older analog stuff was just so good.

Trying to pick out some new appliances now and the more reviews you read the more confusing it is. I need to replace my dishwasher and double oven. Too many choices and options out there. Anyone have recommendations on either?

We're in the market for a 30" or 36" all Natural Gas range. After reading this some brands I thought were good seem to have gotten worse. What are the frontrunners for dependability?

My fridge/freezer just gave up the ghost. Replacing it with a Frigidaire. Am I fricked?

Gas ranges are one of the appliances that are still really good.
Capital is my favorite though. You can take one fully apart to clean with no tools and they use the most common components they are simple to fix and keep going.
Though for more normal brands even with LG and GE you won't go wrong.
Dishwashers Bosch is probably the best overall right now.
The whirlpool line up (includes maytag and kitchen aid) aren't bad either.

If y’all want the honest truth it’s these fricking appliances are all made with lower global warming potential.
And it makes sense, the damn things break down so much it’s rarely in use. Eases global warming.

When we bought our house back in 2006 we bought a new Maytag side by side and it croaked out after 13 years.

It is insane to have to connect a refrigerator to the damn internet. I wish one of these companies would decide to market a basic AF line with no bells and whistles. I also prefer people to get off my lawn.

Same thing for us. Control panel on dishwasher went out twice in one year. Then the drain motor also went out. And of course just outside the warranty window.
Had it hauled off and got a Bosch. You get a DSLD house too?

This is everything. I replaced a 5 year d kitchen aid fridge because it crapped out. Even the good companies are putting out crappy stuff
