gee wiz batman, i never knew they let all state governors vote in congress.

when did this start? because we can now take over congress and install term limits on them since 90% of state governors are republicans

Big names who voted against this bill- Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Sanders, Warren
Big names who voted for : McCain, McConnell, Flake.

Here's a full voter roll call.

He was clearly pushing the good ol' boys GOP line. Stereotypical almost.

He is a smart politician, after he voted for TPP. He went on to make a MAGA onesie, build a wall, MAGA campaign ad.

Reading Trump's book to his baby.

Turtle, Graham, Cheney also used Trump & MAGA to get elected/re-elected.

After Jeb! fundraised for Ron they figured Ron would go no where under the Bush coattails so they used Trump's.

Unless something drastically changes, Ron will govern the WH exactly how Jeb! & the chamber of commerce tells him to. Or they will raid his home with the FBI.

Some...want this just to make the daily Trump drama gone. They want us sick of Trump being attacked. They want us to crave a Romney, Ryan, with gorgeous wives and cute little kids or the mailman's son, Kasich (Youngkin)

Does anybody remember Romney & Ryan in the beginning? They sounded like a dream, like DeSantis.

How many times do they think they can fool us? I mean really...

How long do you think he has been governor?

At the time Barrack Obama was very happy about this vote and so was the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the multinational corporations they represent.

If this does not tell you how Governor DeSantis will govern as president nothing will. If he makes it to the WH he will do the bidding of the Uniparty.

Borders: strong MAGA words, no action.

Trade: free trade rhetoric as a typical GOPe hack.

War: there will be more of it.

I think you should totally pick one issue and use that to attempt to define him. It's completely rational.

Well lets continue the vetting. I want the vetting of DeSantis to continue. But at this point I'm ready for DeSantis over Trump. Trump let us down on a few really big things.

Trump pushed the tea party members out of the way and said we need a replacement for Obamacare before we kill it. Well we got nothing out of that except the removal of the penalty. Obamacare is still here with huge Medicaid bills for states and outrageous premiums. This can't all be laid at the feet of McCain. This was Trumps big promise and he pushed it in the wrong direction.

Trump did a piss poor job with covid and allowed Fauci to run the show and gave in to the Fauci crowd about alternative treatments. He made Fauci an hero and idol in this country by putting that scumbag in front of the cameras everyday.
Trump did some good and I'm proud of those but the stuff he missed on were huge. This coming from someone that is a Trump supporter.

People keep asking how will Trump get to 270? Heck, this TTP vote by DeSantis probably loses him the entire Rust Belt including Ohio.

This is what concerns me about a casual DeSantis supporter. You've posted here since 2017 and don't know he was in Congress (THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES) for 5 years from 2013 till 2018?

Fooled me once, but we've been fooled since the 80s.

Do we care? Are we caring about this?

He's the governor of Florida.

Trump waged an economic war on China, DeSantis paved the way for their takeover.

DeSantis DQ'd himself there and then. Also Paul Ryan rabidly backing him is another no-no for me.

He was a part of good-ol boy RINO voting block before seeing that party shifted. Just another politician and his track record is that of a career politician.

We only care if the Florida legislature changes the law and allows him to run for president and he decides to run for president. All signs indicate that the Florida legislature will act and he will run.

Who was a US Congressman for 5 years till 2018 when he ran for governor.

I care more about his Congressional record because it shows his foreign policy outlook. And he's got a record of GOP-establishment based on that record.

I don't think he's a RINO but I am skeptical that he'll keep his foot on the pedal the way Trump would.
