You’ll get double the life from a good stick smoker or Kamado style grill.
ETA. Most people I know with pellet grills have had at least 1 major fire.

They are worth it.
Coming from a gas, it takes about 10 more minutes to get up to temp. It’s roughly the same cost as propane to buy pellets so you’re not saving much if any money. Pretty close to break even.
I like having a side burner to finish steaks off.
Without a side burner, I can cook everything comparable to a gasser or charcoal grill except steak. Need to be able to seer or reverse seer a steak.
Camp chef has a side burner add-on option which works nicely for seering.

Grease fires. Apparently pellet grills need regular cleaning. For a Kamado cooker you just do a cleaning burn once or twice a year.
There’s also the electronic elements. At some point they will fail and need replacing.

I have a Traeger pellet grill and really like it. Have grilled hamburgers, hotdogs etc and smoked brisket and ribs on it. Love it
Important :
When I finish grilling I turn the grill to make sure air doesn't circulate through the gril. Had the pellet box down wind and had the pellets burn back into the fire box.
Have used it over 10 years and not turning it that 1 time was the only time I had an issue.

I’ve got a small Pit Boss that I got on sale last year. So far no complaints. Easier to monitor than a charcoal grill and still gives you a little more flavor than a gas grill.

Your budget is one of the most important thing. Do you have a Walmart Pit Boss budget or a Yoder budget?

I have 4 friends that have all had pellet grill grease fires. All different, major brands.
The Weber Smokefire is notorious for grease fires.

The new Camp Chef Woodwind PRO with the additional built in smoke box is getting great reviews.
I own A CC Woodwind and love it. You don't have to clean it as often because there is an ash tray in bottom. The new ability to put wood chunks in with pellets allows you to get a great bark on briskets. Something that is hard to do with pellet grills.
Comes in 24 and 36 inch. 24 is what I have.

Recteq has the best warranty imo. I've had my eye on one for awhile but haven't pulled the trigger. I have a buddy that's used his almost every day for a solid 3-4 years. He's had minimal problems. When he did it was a phone call to diagnose and parts were sent.

Have had a Big Green Egg for a very long time. Weekly use. Have had a Traeger for less than 2 years. Still smoke weekly. Only use the Egg for certain things now. Traeger is left wanting when it comes to high temps for steaks as well as the level of smoke production when compared to the Egg. However, the ease of use and wifire have won out over the Egg 9/10 times. Traeger used optimally still produces great results. A properly done brisket on the Egg is a thing of beauty.
Both are worth it. Both are very well built. There are less expensive versions of both that are still good quality. Both require some maintenance. Traeger less than Egg.

There is absolutely NO REASON to have a grease fire if you use it correctly and keep it maintained.

This is true, but it was a defect in design that was corrected last year.

I own one of these and think it is great. Better than Egg.
I like the convenience of the pellet smoker. Still love my Primo, though.

YouTube reviews I watched showed that Series 2 corrected many issues but did not address the grease pan.
