Does Aranda end up back in the SEC?

It’s possible that Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn and Texas A&M all come open. Not likely but possible.
Who would have Aranda on their board? Who would he actually accept? Are any of those jobs better than Baylor?

I think he’s a perfect fit in Waco.

I could see Aranda maybe fitting at State. They are one of the only programs in the West that don’t demand as much in terms of recruiting if you are a great coach. He may be willing to step up a level there at some point, but so far he hasn’t shown any interest in playing the games necessary to bring in a top 10 class.

He's currently making more than all but one of those schools are paying.

Maybe Florida after sun belt billy flames out
Listening to his reasoning for wanting baylor he’s looking for a certain balance in education and values that extend beyond football. Auburn has that weird aesthetic but the boosters are nuts. Def don’t see him at either Mississippi school

I love Aranda but his stock isn’t as high
He had a bad first year, excellent second year and will finish 6-6 this year.
I just hesitate to give an outrageous contract to a coach with one year of a winning record (Mel Tucker)

Aranda will be fortunate to stay at Baylor.

I hope not. Dave scares me if he ever ends up at a good school.

While you may be able to build a better team at Ms State than Baylor, you have a better chance of making the playoffs at any big 12 school, except maybe Kansas and Iowa State, than at Mississippi, State, or Ole Miss, Arkansas, or several other SEC schools. As long as they keep calling the big 12 a power league, then advantage big 12.

I’d take Arranda. He beat our arse in the sugar bowl last year with nothing but 3 stars.

He is and building a winner.
In a weak league that is about to get even weaker he will have an easy, clear path to the playoff every year and can skip the cannibalism that is the SEC.

I like Aranda, but I’m not sold on him as a head coach. He needs to show some results at Baylor before I would consider him a successful head coach.

Of course the answer is maybe.
Of course he needs to show either a dominant next season, or at least 2 years of much better success than he has delivered.

Baylor is a Christian school
Aranda is very devout
He ain't leaving, unless he is fired

The word on the street is that he wanted the Wisconsin job but UW preferred Leonhard. His family loved Madison

Maybe as a DC.
20-15 ain’t gonna cut it in the SEC.

I hope not, because I think he's great a Baylor and I like to see good coaches stay and build up programs.

Don’t see him leaving Baylor for state, ole miss or Auburn. He is smarter than that. The family and quality of life at Baylor is better and more job security. Baylor itself recruits decent quality players from Texas and the region. I expect program at Baylor to continue to improve with him there and be built the proper way and he will be there unless the program stagnates or some major school wants him down the road , say LSU or Wisconsin.
