Eh. Name one NFL coach who you think could go into any other NFL locker room and win, no matter who is on his team. There isn't one. Even Belichick is showing that he isn't anything special without the greatest QB in the history of the sport on his team. NFL coaches are at the mercy of talent (specifically QB talent) just as much as college coaches are, only they have less control over what players they have on their roster.

If the NFL is the place where the most elite of all elite coaches go to ply their trade, why is Kliff Kingsbury employed there?

Great. Just think of all the black hair dye he'll be able to afford.

Have you watched Alabama this year?

Yeah. The talent level is down.

Who is your elite receiver?

Who is elite on the o-line?

Cryin Day has an ego.

I think he would take it, if offered.

That’s not what I said or implied.

The NFL is the pinnacle of football and some coaches want to coach with/against the best players in the game on the biggest stage.

Kliff was sought out by the league because it was thought he was better suited for the NFL, this despite him being mediocre as a college coach.

Others like Saban and Rhuel wanted to test the NFL waters. It would not e surprising if Day wanted to do the same.

Honest question, with how much college coaches are getting now, how much of a pay raise would he gain by jumping to the NFL.

If Day does bolt to the NO Fun League.

Expect Fickell to be named Head Coach the day After!!!

He wants that job and I think he would win multiple Championships There

Sean Payton.

He excelled with a great QB (Brees in his prime) and obviously would like to have one, but he's shown that he can manufacture a winning scheme with whatever he has on hand. shite, he was beating teams running Taysom Hill in schemes we haven't seen in the NFL since the 1940s.

I guarantee, he would be an upgrade at HC at most NFL teams,

Yeah man… lucky arse Ohio state. Lose Tressel, get urban… lose urban, get Day… lose Day, get Fickell.

Outside of Bama, OSU is the best program in college football when it comes to head coaches.

Every single head coach they’ve had since Woody Hayes was hired in 1951 (not counting the interim year from Fickell) has been or will be a college football Hall of Famer.

Woody
Earle Bruce
John Cooper
Jim Tressel
Urban Meyer

Ryan Day will be one if he stays there given his winning percentage.

As you say, if they lose Ryan Day they’ll just hire Luke Fickell as his replacement.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if both Day and Riley are coaching in the NFL in the next two years.

Bill Belichick the coach is dragging a bottom 5 roster to a .500 season in suddenly one of the hardest divisions in football.

Andy Reid would win anywhere.

Vrabel, harbaugh, shanahan have all won with below average QBs.

Still early in their careers but Sirianni, McDaniel, OConnell, and Daboll all look promising and able to adapt their game plans to get the most out of their rosters.

Day is still sucking off urban and head coaches a self recruiting unit. How good would he be with a rebuild of UCLA, FSU, Gators or Miami?

The Colts would be making a terrible mistake.

Ohio State with Fickell would be terrifying. He’s a much better coach than Day.
