They tried to get it on the ballot in Missouri this year.

I am opposed to it, because I think it's a bad idea, but there is nothing illegal about it.

Its not illegal at the moment.
The old electoral system “creates perverse incentives” and “rewards bad behavior, meaning extremism, and punishes good behavior,” says Scott Kendall, an Anchorage lawyer who has worked for Republican politicians in Alaska and who drafted the ballot measure that created the new system.

Kendall again served as Murkowski's advisor and legal representative in 2016, when Murkowski ran for re-election against Miller and a number of other candidates. Kendall told The Hill in July 2015 that Murkowski's campaign intended to focus on her work as chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, saying, "There’s no committee in the entire Senate that’s more important to Alaska. ... Her focus is on making sure that Americans have access to Alaska’s energy resources, and their own."[4]

In 2015, Kendall joined the Black Rock Group—a Washington, D.C., consulting firm—as the group's Alaska managing director.

It gives the people that did not select the top 2 candidates a second vote. If their first choice does not make the second round their second choice vote gets counted.
This doesn't seem fair compared to a run off election where everyone gets to vote a second time.

Not go thru? I think a KS city got it pushed onto them for local elections.
There is a Soros backed group that is pushing this the last few years. That SOBs last view needs to be a guillotine.
We need to this group more attention so we know who they are.

Yeah a friend of Murkowski's made bank from this new voting system. All designed to keep Murkowski in. And Turtle helped.
But Ole Rog from Alaska will post how stupid people are that support Trump W/O seeing the rot that causes Trump.

It relies on technology.
I prefer simple systems that people can operate.
Hand count ballots are the most straightforward.

One voice, one vote. This system rewards bottom tier candidates

oh hell - I hit reply before I found out it was you - but here I am so
because it reduces the solemn process of electing governmental leaders to all sorts of gamesmanship by unscrupulous candidates.
They can scheme with each other - coordinate their collective messages to ensure that a non-expert analyst of political maneuvering (90% of the population) will not be able to identify the actual 'scheme' being presented.
The average voter will approach the election based on not only non-perfect information, but deliberately distorted information designed to hide the conspiratorial scheme.
The same result as what happens when an honest man plays 'follow the pea' in the 3-shell game.
Predetermined result is built into the system unless highly improbably confluence of unrelated factors all fall into line.
in other words = you LOVE it because it is set up for CHICANERY and invites ABUSE.
You are who we think you are.

Imagine that...anti-democratic frickery results in anti-democratic results

I didn’t realize Trump was in the ballot in all those states.

I like the idea of ranked choice voting for BBQ competitions and for primaries where 18 shite birds are all running against each other.
Posted on 11/17/22 at 6:54 pm to MrLSU
I'm not sure if it's better but I dont hate it by any means. It makes sense in large pools of candidates to me for sure.
