Dude is top tier.

Would be a drastic culture change, but is just what AU needs.

Auburn has two route it could take here in my opinion, and I think they’ll take route #2.

1. Go for a culture guy that will build a program the right way and cut out the cancer. This is long term thinking for life in the state post Saban - get a good structure in place for sustainable success that will be positioned to take back market share when Saban retires. . . Mark Stoops

2. Go for a splash, win now and ask questions later. We want to compete with Alabama ASAP and roll with whatever comes our way long term. We get immediate popularity in the media and recruiting buzz . . . Kiffin or Freeze

I would do #1

Thank goodness you’re not making the decisions. Nobody wants Mark Stoops.

Sure, Auburn's track record speaks for itself in making decisions. Keep trying to chase Saban and see how it works out. Auburn needs someone who will cut out the cancer.

Fickell is my #1 choice but I think I am in the minority of minorities among AU fans.

Fickle is too smart to coach for that dumpster fire of
an administration.AU is a coach killer.They don`t support
any coach they hire. There is a faction of people who never
support whoever the coach is,they are allways divided.
A house divided will fail. Fickle knows this.Lane with his
DGAS personality might be the only one who might take the job. Ya`ll would be damned lucky if that happened.

is this overrated? Dinardo, Saban, Miles and Kelly are not southerners...and they did fine at LSU.

The problem with Auburn is the same problem at Texas and A&M...impatient meddling boosters...Would Fickell want to deal with that?

As opposed to LSU, who is always 100% behind their HC, no matter what.

Just so long as he wins every one of his games by 3 TDs or more.

As an LSU fan, Fickell is the guy I don't want you to get. He is a great coach and is known for cutting out booster influence. He would be homerun for yall. He's going to get a big job eventually. I would be a little concerned about him not staying long and taking an NFL gig.

Fickell has no interest in Auburn, no offense. He’s got Ohio State on lock, once Day leaves for the NFL.

There is area between those options though, and it's the "splashy" hires that probably fit it better.

Auburn wants to win at a top 15ish level, which it hasn't done lately. I don't think Stoops or Clawson or someone like that is going to do that. Kiffin, however, might. I don't think Kiffin is in Saban/Kirby territory and while I hope he has upside and grows as an HC, I don't think he's going to get to that level. Is it worth 75m or so for AU to chase winning 9-10 a year and make a couple runs at the CFP/SEC? Probably.

Shhhhhhh... I want Fickell at Arkansas when Pittman ultimately gets fired after next season.

He came to Arkansas the first game of the season and saw what the program, stadium, and fan support has to offer, and that even a 5-5 SEC team can fairly easily handle a Cincinnati team that was in the playoffs the previous season due to the talent in the south.

If I were Hunter Yurachek (Arkansas' AD), this would be my sales pitch. Plus making him one of the highest paid in the league

Not going IMO. Will be at Ohio State for a long time.

IMO, Fickell's next job will be one of OSU, PSU, or Notre Dame. He seems content at Cincinnati and he seems to be choosy about his next job. I don't think he's leaving the Midwest.

Its the same dilemma LSU had last year. We opted for a culture change guy in Brian Kelly and its paying off sooner than expected. With the transfer rules, things can turn around a lot faster than in the past.

AU will be LUCKY to get a coach the caliber of Mark Stoops.
Ya`ll don`t have a clue about the job he`s done at Kentucky.
thats one of the toughest places to win and be consistant.
I hope ya`ll DON`T get him.
