For those that didn't feel CBK was the right coach for LSU, what was it (be specific) that had you questioning the hire? Full transparency here, I had LSU going 7-5.

I bet the over on wins this year at 7. but was thinking 8-4 with a win over Florida st. he has totally surpassed my 1st year thoughts that were possible.

I thought the hire was safe, solid, but not exciting. Same with his staff. I underestimated. He's been excellent.

I've not seen a team improve week-to-week like this LSU squad. With Miles or O, what you saw week one was more or less indicative of what you were going to see in week 10. For this group, based on the FSU game, that would spell a 5-7 or 6-6 season.

Kelly & Co outperformed, as did this team. We're well ahead of schedule as a consistent national title contender.

I really didnt like him when he was a Notre Dame simply because he coached the team I dislike the most.
And I figured 7-5 would be a realistic figure due to the 39 players he inherited.
And after the Fla ST loss I wasnt really convinced he was "the guy" we needed.
BUT...he is the epitome' of class and consistency.
I am sold...He is our guy and I believe the best is yet to come...

Turns out Florida st is a pretty decent team that will end up 9-3 or 8-4 with a top 15 defense and a spotty offense.

I knew LSU needed a culture change and discipline and that's what excited me the most about the CBK hire. I know he always had good lines of scrimmage especially OL which is what the elite programs have. I knew he could maximize what he had but so had no idea he would hit on so many portal players especially ones with La ties. That was a calculated move that paid off. No one could have predicted this record or season to this point. LSU has had a top ten talent roster in college football for a very long time. Lastly, when I stated to see the QB room we have and for the future I knew we would be in conversation for years to come. Lastly, it's nice to not have a figurehead as a HC but rather an adult who has the ability to gain buy in.

I was seriously thinking 6-6. But that was more a reflection of how bare Ed O left the cupboard.

With the exception of this psst week having a little big of a Bama hangover, CBK had the Tigers improving each week. To me, that’s a sign of great coaching. Give me week to week improvement. The future of LSU football is bright.

I could not say that 8 months ago.

At least you admit it. Most don’t.

I thought 8-4 or 9-3 first year with cfp in the near future. He is much better than I thought. I was a little worried after the fsu game cbk took the money and was acting like he was retired. Feel much better now.

I was thinking 8 was the ceiling. For similar reasons. But, in a twisted way, the cupboard wasn't in as bad of shape that we may have thought. Obviously, the transfer portal helped to fill some immediate gaps. But seems like overall the team just has responded well to a change in leadership.

I thought he was a safe hire and knew he could turn us back into a 10 win team eventually. I really questioned his hires early in the year. They turned it around way faster than I thought they would. I’m happy to somewhat eat crow.

I’m 95% confident he’s the right guy.

The other 5% comes when he wins a championship

To inherit a team without 39 Scholarship players that wer 5&5, 6&6, and win the SEC west is the best job of coaching that I've ever seen

I thought he would do well.

His career arc was similar to Saban’s. He has won at every stop: Grand Valley State, CMU, Cincinnati and Notre Dame.

Always thought Kelly was the right move. Still have questions about poulian! If you put Perkins at punt returner, does he win a heisman next year ?

STs are good now except for the occasional kick OOB and that’s all on Dibert.

I thought lsu was going to be a better team this year than the experts thought but after the FSU I wasn't impressed. Special teams lost that game and almost lost other games as well.

CBK showed us that he's not going to allow his team to just be what it is like some of our previous coaches have. Les Miles teams always got worse as the year went on, there is no doubt in my mind that they were practicing incorrectly and not well conditioned. Orgeron had that one really good year, but there are a number of players on that team that are now considered top 10 players in the NFL.

Kelly is doing at lsu what our former coaches outside of saban haven't done and that is doing more with less. We're still operating on a scholarship deficit.

With Kelly, the only question is can he maintain success as a good program and not just succeed when expectations are low. I think his track record at Notre Dame indicates that he will do well here. His recruiting has been greatly simplified by not having to constantly travel coast to coast and he can spend more time housekeeping and doing the little things right.

I was intrigued by the Lincoln Riley possibilities for offense, hated any thought of Jimbo, too much unproven with Napier, and thought BK was a very solid choice. I honestly believed that he would get the program on track but never thought that it would happen this soon. I was thinking more like 3 yrs.
