He is correct in all points

1. Democrats will not change course on anything; they wildly outperformed expectations, except in Florida.
DeSantis is doing something right that and the old folks no longer back Democrats en masse. They are more MAGA now than they've ever been.
2. Biden is their 2024 nominee unless he is fully incapacitated.
This is good news. He'll easily be a one-term president.
3. Republicans wildly underperformed, and heads should roll.
This is bad news and true. Heads should roll but they won't.
4. There is a lot of hope for the Republican coalition given their performance with Hispanic and black voters. But their candidate quality was poor and their leadership was either absent or counterproductive.
Stick to the issues. More agree with us than don't.
5. Candidate quality matters -- underlying dynamics are not strong enough to drive bad candidates to victory.
Agree with this. But who are the bad candidates? Just because they lost or underperformed, does that make them bad?
6. Donald Trump was a major drag on Republicans, from his picks to his antics.Trump picked bad candidates, spent almost no money on his hand-picked candidates, and then proceeded to crap on the Republicans who lost and didn't sufficiently bend the knee. This will have 2024 impact.
Feels like this is more of a Dem narrative and now a RINO narrative. Not so sure about this.
7. The Republican leadership class, paralyzed by the Trump phenomenon, failed to provide any leadership at all...
???
8. Except for DeSantis, who was a leader, an excellent candidate, and an organizer of his own party, leading to a Florida red tsunami.
I agree with this unless it's being used to say someone else is bad as in OMB.

How can this only be true for republicans?
By every objective measure fetter man and Hobbs were all time worst candidates. One had a stroke and the other refused to debate
So how is it only true for republicans?
Republican voters actually care a lot more about the quality of their representatives.
Democrats only want power, so whomever gives them the power, animal/mineral/vegetable, they will vote for that thing.

Exactly. Not excited about Oz to be honest but he should have won this easily but PA people.

No it is cowardice and laziness.

As nice as I can be about this, this statement is absurd. Shapiro is doing his best to be objective, I don't agree completely but I respect him for that.

which is really strange because in terms of actual politics he's exactly like the people they do like
Yeah but he also relies on low-IQ people like Lauren Bobert, Clay Higgins, MTG, etc.
He also ran on attacking abortion, which, again, is not palatable to the educated, professional class.

I think you also have to look at JD Vance as well. Much is made of Thiel dropping money on him, but he was broke 2-3 mos ago and Ryan was a quality Democrat candidate. 7 to 8 point spread is actually impressive for first time candidate

don’t understand people who think honest criticism of Trump while still supporting him, equates to never Trumping.
I did vote for him. I would again in hindsight. I’ll vote for him again, if it comes to it. But he needs to go away.
This sums up my feelings perfectly.
The people who have elevated Trump to God Like stature (not an exaggeration imo) are as bizarre as some on the left.

true or not his comments are spot on
For the first time, I think it needs to be Desantis. I have my own thoughts about Trump, but there are way too many people who don’t feel the same and I can’t do shite about that. I’m not sure I want to see where this country is after 8 straight years of Biden.

The professional class doesn't find Trumpism palatable.
The professional class are what's wrong with the Republican Party! They don't have the stomach for not only Trump but for anything that might cause stress to their delicate lives. They think they can spend their way through this and not get their hands or their children's hands dirty.

He doesn’t know shite, R’s will get rolled again until they stop the cheat.
Its not cheating, they were bad candidates with no message. What was Walker running on? What was Oz running on?
Oz was dumb enough to let the debate be pushed back until voting already started.
Lake and Masters had no vision in AZ just they were backed by Trump.
With the economy the way it is now this should have been a slam dunk for Republicans but Trump cant get out of his way. People dont like Trump and that hurt the Rs.

The Democrats won a key senate race with a guy who can’t string together a sentence
Between Biden and that guy I don’t know why this board blames candidate quality. At some point you have to admit that the Dems have the numbers, especially in counties with large cities, and if their voting laws allow for vote harvesting then the GOP can’t make up the difference in the suburbs. There are more dem voters.

No, Oz proved it to be false
Apparently it does take a neurologist to figure the guy has fulminant executive functioning deficits and aphasia with spinal fluid literally leaking out of his brain. After seeing his debate I thought that there was no way in hell he would win. Unfortunately I was wrong. Literal clown world

Dude, that bombastic, talking shite stuff that Trump made popular with his base was rejected across the country last night.
Why are you still acting like that's how you're going to win moving forward?
Posted on 11/9/22 at 7:47 am to NickSwisher
Dems weren't going to let Oz win that race. Too important for the future.
