Just denied the right to vote at the same precinct I’ve been voting at for 17+ years

I changed addresses within the precinct area last year. I received a card from the registrar of voters confirming my address change and advising me that I would still vote in the same place.
I show up to vote today and I’m told that my name is not on the rolls anymore. These are pollsitters that know me personally and know where I live. They tell me that I’m not the only one today. Someone goes in the back and makes a phone call. They come out and tell me that I will have to visit the courthouse and fill out some paperwork so that I can vote in the next election. That’s it! frick these shenanigans.

I recently changed my address online at the registrar office. I had to fill out a small form today in person also but it wasn't a hassle

Conservatives love purging the rolls so you gotta check closer to election day to make sure you are still on it.

Why did you wait until today to get your shite together?
Why didn't you early vote, or at least make sure you knew where you were supposed to vote?
This is important shite. Do your homework.
[ETA] unless you were going to vote D. In that case, don't fret, the democrats vote on November 9th, so you have time to find out where you need to go.

If they didn’t allow you to vote affidavit… they are incompetent. You don’t have to wait. You vote affidavit. Go back and do that.

The card I received from the registrar confirmed that my voting place hadn’t changed. Neither the House nor Senate race in my district were supposed to be close, but this is still BS.

You should get a provisional ballot.
