Not bad for 3 months. No need to “dance” when you’re gouging American motorists.
Y'all should propose some more regulations to suppress supply and some more taxes on producers. Surely that will reduce the price for American motorists.

you have to have hydrocarbons for alot of things, sure.
your article itself states oil companies are completely content pocketing profits and not reinvesting them.
the only industries that do that are industries with no expanding future.
A day is coming where there is diesel for towing and necessary byproducts and commuter cars are electric.

Jimmy Carter must be happy knowing he is no longer viewed as the most incompetent president of the modern era.

This isn't viable for numerous reasons. At least not in the next 20 years if not never. Electric isn't the answer.
What fuels the plants?
What do you do with old batteries that can't be recycled?
What is going to drive the market to make electric recharging stations?

President Biden over the weekend told New Yorkers at a rally that he was still going to end drilling and fracking on Federal Lands.
When people tell me it is Markets and Cyclical and not Biden, I laugh.

The first world is pulling the ladder out from the developing nations. Petrol is the cheapest fastest way for these nations to climb the standard of living.
I guess in DJford's world, it's the oil co's that are screwing californians worse than anywhere else.

Per the FT, it is banks that want oil companies to keep returning cash to shareholders instead of investing it in new production.
Shareholders themselves would certainly agree: they spent years watching how much cash was poured into relentless production growth and then they saw prices go negative, even though it was only for a little while. The price crash of 2020 was very real and very painful.
Everyone in the industry remembers how many companies went bankrupt and how many colleagues lost jobs between 2014-2021 with relentless production growth. It basically took that bloodletting to remind people the point of running a business - free cash flow.

Some policy makers want to impose a windfall profits tax on energy companies.
They conveniently forget the US oil & gas industry lost $300 billion over the last decade.

Why invest in future production capacity or even replace aging capacity if the government is committed to eliminating your industry? It takes years to build and bring on line a refinery. Why would anyone sink money into a plant that will never operate?

It's insanely frustrating how so many people still beleive Biden is right.
Basic economics is not hard... and yet 75% of Americans know so little of it that they can so easily be misled.

Governments keep telling oil companies and banks that they don’t want oil being used in the future. Who wants to invest in an industry that’s being forcibly phased out?
Posted on 11/7/22 at 9:54 am to DJFord
so, you have no understanding of supply and demand economics?

Biden: "I'm a capitalist... but" then proceeds to slam Exxon for making a profit for successfully keeping the US supplied with refined products despite crushing government regulations.

Would end up decreasing production. I honestly think it’s a completely dishonest midterm stratagem that will never happen.

I believe there was a Bloomberg article about a meeting Granholm and other administration officials including Deese with oil executives. Contentious. Lasted 30 minutes. Granholm browbeat the execs and wanted to know their strategy for cheap oil and gas. Oil execs stated they would not give out their strategies in a room with their competitors. Also, that’s a violation of antitrust laws.
This administration is the most corrupt in my lifetime.

This is what Europe is currently experiencing and Joe wants that here in the US.
He's actually said that, if you pay attention, to his comments about not caring about the US economy.
Biden knows what Obama is having him do. He is also aware of the outcomes it is doing to the US economy. This is where the media comes into play to run interference and have the blame be placed on everyone but Obama and Joe.

Calling the oil industry a free market is one of the most dishonest things they've ever said about themselves. Not with those trillions in subsidies.
