I loved him on the broadcast last night. A shame none of the players liked him. The Bledsoe era was something.

He’s a good dude but he just can’t relate with this generation of players. Willie can. That and SVG’s X’s and O’s are just as outdated. He needs to stick to being a commentator

He damn near destroyed the team. Wtf.

Never understood the hire in the first place.

I find it admirable he can stay objective after the the stint he had. Not many people are capable of that.
Much rather listen to him rather than his brother

he said that JV is a good rim protector and P&R defender. the dude is out of touch and i couldn’t be happier that he is not our coach

It was a terrible hire, I'm glad the Pels realized it and moved on quickly. SVG has been a lousy coach for quite a while.

He also said Graham was dangerous. He is def out of touch. But overall he still sounds like he just has a passion for the game.

I like Graham as a microwave scorer off the bench. If he is off, play other guys. Last night was a perfect example of how he can contribute.

Sure, but i think he was advocating for him to get more minutes. We dont need that lol

While this is true, he still almost cost us the game with two missed free throws towards/at the end of the game. Even when he is "on" he is still incredibly frustrating.

Yeah, he's a much better commentator than his brother cause you can tell SVG still loves the game and hasn't yet turned into an insufferable curmudgeon

I mean, wrong coach at the wrong time. But at least this way, he gets to do what he's actually good at these days...broadcasting

He was commending Jonas for improvement in those areas, not suggesting he was elite in either one.

Agreed. He actually talks basketball. All Jeff does is try and joke and try and get clarification on the rules because he doesn't know them. I can listen to a JVG and Jackson game, but I definitely prefer pretty much anybody else ESPN has.

He has no problem analyzing players, coaches, and society but when it came to analyzing himself it was a different story. It’s a shame too because he has a terrific basketball mind.

I still think that a-hole coaches can be successful. What worked so hard against SVG were all the COVID restrictions. The team couldn't eat team meals or do things to come together. Lots of times, a-hole coaches can actually bring teams together, as the players bond together over their dislike of their coach.
None of that was possible, because of COVID rules.
But also, none of that excuses all the minutes that Bledsoe got.
Edit: In other words, the COVID rules made everyone miserable enough without an a-hole coach cussing them out all the time. I'm not mourning SVG's failure in the slightest, but I do wonder how much better it would've been without all the COVID restrictions that made everyone miserable.

Completely completely agree.
Stan is good at being a color guy. Jeff is a jackass.

I thought it was pretty telling that SVG was saying he would switch out Nance with Jonas with a minute and change to go in the game.
Willie knows when he needs to move pieces around, but he also knows to let the players cook. That closing rotation got us back in control of that game.
