Domestic Abuse

And

Armed Robbery

Apparently, Hillar Moore is in a contest with Broome for most incompetent parish elected official.

Not the biggest Moore fan but in his defense the judges set the bonds not the DA.

Pretty sure he did push for no bond. At least that’s what was said in the news.

The judges run on their leniency.

The citizens elect the judges.

You can blame Judge Ron Johnson. He set his bail on the previous arrest at 5K. The DA can ask for higher bail but the judge has the final say. This is after the guy has already been arrested on Domestic assault.

If they kept all who committed Domestic Assault in jail it would take a jail the size of Tiger Stadium to hold them. Criminal behavior en masse is not the problem, it’s a symptom. That said strong punitive policy would prevent a lot of the behavior. But we know that by that can’t happen. Marxism good/ Capitalism bad.

I’m not trying to defend the shooter. But this isn’t like NY’s cashless bail system.

The judge set his bail as The Constitution says he must do.

This is more in the prosecutor's realm than anything. The judge plays a smaller role. There are also bail amounts that are pinned to the crime. If the defense asked for lesser bond, and the prosecutor and judge agreed, then it's on all their asses.

Where in the Constitution does it say bail must be set low for violent offenders?

I’d rather some drug addict that doesn’t beat up their wife or gf be out of jail than the sober dude that does.
