It is interesting they lump Ohio in there. I may be moving up there and looking at acreages many of them have "free" gas from wells on the property.

What's the price of heating oil and propane looking like this year? Because a lot of houses in Northern New England run on that. And wood and wood pellets.
Trust me, they'll be fine without natural gas.
This. Maine is closer to the independent off the grid living that most baws only dream about. They aren't living in cheap construction cookie cutter suburbia.

Massachusetts here: National Grid is hiking electric as well by 60% I believe next month.

Talked to a co-worker who lives near Boston. Her normal supplier of pellets refused to supply her this year because he didn't want to drive that far. She had to scramble and find another source, which she did, but it cost a lot more than in prior years. She was just happy to get the pellets -- and hoped she would have enough.

Rhode Island is not all of New England.
And it's called a frappe.

And so are the hysterical fear porn stories about people freezing. Hint: It’s not going to happen.

Most of the houses in the "problem" area use oil (diesel) for heating. Also, the "problem" area has a very sparse population vs the "solution" area. This is why there are less pipelines in the "problem" area. There is just not a natural gas demand in the "problem" area as in the "solution" area.

Why not show the WHOLE map which shows a lot of America is in the same situation as Maine, including some states usually considered conservative like some out in the Far West?

to be fair you would want the full map and a population density map.
