Mayor LaToya Cantrell announced that she will travel to Amsterdam, Netherlands to attend the Bloomberg CityLab Conference and Mayors Innovation Studio.

The Conference is scheduled to take place October 9 - 11. City officials said the conference will include panel discussions, interviews, and artistic performances.

Mayors from around the world are scheduled to attend including Mayor London Breed of San Francisco, Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis of Athens, Greece, and Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo of Mexico City, Mexico.

Cantrell is scheduled to return to New Orleans on October 11.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be invited to join my brother and sister mayors from around the world, as well as other prominent city innovators, business leaders, urban experts and activists to explore the shared hurdles and possibilities faced by cities and around the world and create better solutions and opportunities for our people and communities to thrive,” said Mayor Cantrell.

“From leading our communities through pandemic recovery to welcoming refugees from global conflicts to being on the frontlines of climate change as a coastal city, attending this year’s Bloomberg CityLab is directly aligned with my administration’s goal to create a more inclusive, equitable, resilient, and welcoming city. We are a world-class city, and I will continue to embrace any opportunity to place New Orleans front and center on the global issues that greatly impact our people the most.”

As mayor, it’s so easy to feel like you’re on an island, to feel like you’re alone. And then you come to CityLab, you interact with other mayors, and you see and hear what they’re doing and it’s like an adrenaline shot. It gives you the energy to go back home and try something different or new.

CityLab 2022 will be hosted in Amsterdam October 9-11. Hosted in partnership with the Aspen Institute, CityLab 2022 will bring together some of the world’s most creative mayors, artists, academics, funders, and public- and private-sector leaders focused on improving cities. With Amsterdam as our host, CityLab will be the year’s leading global convening for city leaders to reconnect, reflect, and re-energize as we look ahead toward the future of local government innovation.

Of course The Aspen Institute is involved

No,meetings like these are where the useful idiots get their marching orders and are reassured that doubling down on their horrible policy will be rewarded in time.

One thing I will be happy about when the true economic collapse happens and there is no extra money or fuel is for these kind of conferences and such to disappear.

Again.. make fun of Latoya all you want (it's completely warranted), but here's another Stacey Abrams rubbing elbows with the power brokers who control elections, policy, etc at events hosted by Aspen Institute

She's obviously dumber than a bag of hammers, but it's also clear that she's backed by someone with deep pockets who could care less about LA/Nola citizens

That bitch didnt get invited.....she got an email blast that went out to every mayor in the world just like the rest of us get inviting us to every fricking convention or meeting related to whatever industry you work in.

I could attend 3 conferences or conventions every week if I wanted to

Unfortunately that would have to come out of my business expenses and not the tax payers pocket

From the list of Speakers for this conference:

quote:

Vitali Klitschko

Mayor of Kyiv

Kyiv, Ukraine

Seems like he would have more important things to worry about than this conference

This bitch better have been flying coach in the last row with her security but we all know she’s still going to fly like she views herself, a VIP. All being mayor is to her is free vacations. Doesn’t matter where or for what, she’s there wasting money that isn’t hers and it’s ok because if anyone says anything she can quickly pull out the race card and everything is ok. I’m so tired of it. Being white shouldn’t be viewed as a crime.
