Do you think people shouldn’t spread the word about this dangerous breed which could save lives?

eputies say two dogs attacked a 2-year-old girl, a 5-month-old boy, and their mother. Shelby County Sheriff Public Information Officer John Morris said both dogs appeared to be Pitbulls and were taken by animal control. Both children were pronounced dead at the scene. The mother was transported to Regional One in critical condition.

Absolutely freaking terrible. If it weren't for low IQ and trashy people, the pit bull breed wouldn't exist.

Ridiculous. My 3 pit rescues (Killer, Mauler, and Lulu) are the sweetest dogs ever. They have only nibbled on 5 people so far and 2 of them didn't even need stitches.

MEMPHIS, Tenn.– Two children were killed, and their mother was seriously injured after they were attacked by their family dogs Wednesday afternoon.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said the attack happened inside a home in the 700 block of Sylvan Road near Shelby Forest State Park around 3:30 p.m.
Deputies say two dogs attacked a 2-year-old girl, a 5-month-old boy, and their mother.
Shelby County Sheriff Public Information Officer John Morris said both dogs appeared to be Pitbulls and were taken by animal control.
Both children were pronounced dead at the scene. The mother was transported to Regional One in critical condition.
We asked if charges would be filed but were told this is still an ongoing investigation.

But I was told that this breed was very loving and protective of its family, especially children.
Seriously, when can we start eradicating this menace?

But they’re such great, loving, and affectionate family pets that are just great with kids….
… right up until the moment they’re not.

Why anybody has pits around women and children is beyond me. They can be great dogs if a man establishes and asserts himself early on…but otherwise they are generally a disaster waiting to happen.

Again, like I said, pits are great dogs… right up until the moment they’re not. And that’s the problem. There’s too many stories of the “loving and affectionate” family pet pit bull that’s never shown an ounce of aggression towards anything other than its food bowl and is “just great with the kids”, suddenly one day ripping someone (usually a small child) to shreds. If you’re lucky the child survives and only requires massive reconstructive surgery. If you’re not lucky you’re planning a funeral for your preschooler.
Seriously, I don’t give a shite how “great” of a pet they make. Who in their right mind would take that chance? There’s a shite ton of breeds that make great pets without being responsible for the vast majority of fatal dog attacks year after year.
Even if you don’t have kids yourself, I’m sure there are kids who live around you. Would you have a pet hyena if someone said they make great pets? Maybe a loving pet grizzly bear?
