Bourdain was probably murdered
Let's hear it

Bourdain was a bit of a narcissist, and probably too intelligent for his own good, but he was also genuinely interested in people, and cared about them. Deeply introspective people cannot escape their own minds sometimes.
But he cared about himself too much. Fame poisoned his already stunted mind, as it does with many people. He couldn't handle it, and he khs. Someone like him was probably never meant for the spotlight.
I loved No Reservations growing up, it was one of my favorite shows. It inspired me, as it did millions of people. I appreciate him for that. Too see anyone spiral down like he did is pretty sad.

This is exactly why people are calling him an a-hole.

I've known too many entitled a-holes from educated, well-to-do backgrounds just like him. His "candor" is really justification for boorish behavior. "I'm an a-hole. Deal with it." Then, people who are impressed with his pseudo-intellect explain away him being a dickhead by chalking it up to demons. If Bourdain hadn't learned to make a soufflé, or throw around food snob terms he'd be Tucker Max.
We all apologize for being sheep and enjoying his shows. We need a list of famous people who aren’t entitled assholes so I’ll know not to watch them. Thanks
Is Kevin Costner ok?

didn't even know Bourdain was anti-Trump, but the first page of responses made it loud & clear.
The you didn’t read to listen to any of his personal comments from 2015-2018

I read that as a plea of understanding for people that watch the episode that might be close minded toward rural WV people, not a plea for understand for himself.

same. it's a criticism of city dwelling liberals that stay in their bubbles with preconceived notions of what places like WV are like.

Cry me a river you fricking pussy. You sure as hell kept making cooking shows and doing things to stay in the spotlight. You were a weak, frail, insecure pussy who took his own life in the ultimate act of selfishness. Good riddance
Dude, it's called mental illness for a reason. And he was clearly mentally ill.

A lot of replies to this thread show exactly why people don’t like to talk about mental health or reach out for real help.
And the replies are coming from a bunch of no-necks who whine about the price of chicken fingers and other mundane shite on a daily basis.

He’s a substance abuser who was in a toxic relationship with a whore.
What is there to talk about?

Roadrunner was really well done and gave a lot of insight into his demise, including his relationship with Asia. Gives you a better understanding of how, despite his success, it ultimately still left him empty.

Material Possessions and professional success are truly empty platitudes unless you have the foundation of personal happiness only available through family and friends. True friends.

As someone who enjoyed his work, I think that's a valid criticism. I don't worship the guy, but he did expose me to new things in my formative years. I read Kitchen Confidential after working in a restaurant, and it resonated with my 19 year-old rebellious self.
Nowadays, I can go on youtube and go anywhere in the world. No Reservations came on TV at a time before that. Bourdain took viewers to a lot of places that hadn't been explored much on TV. Parts Unknown could get a little preachy, but it was still pretty entertaining to me.

Was never a fan of Bourdain. Hard to put my finger on it but he had an arrogance that just irritated me.
