I really don't think he did because of that woman. If you happened to have watched the show after he died he makes off-handed comments that are clearly suicidal in retrospect but that you would never have taken seriously if he hadn't have actually done it being that he was always so humorous and cynical.
Asia Argento was basically the absolute worst person to be romantically involved with in 2018. She got caught up in the MeToo movement, accusing Weinstein of raping her. But then it came out that she had a problematic relationship with a 17 year old herself. Then she got Bourdain to pay $300,000 to her accuser.
Then add on that he had left the mother of his child to be with Asia.
I’m guessing, in addition to Bourdain’s already troubled mental health, he realized he had destroyed something beautiful with his wife Octavia to be with Asia and that his personal life was going down the toilet.
It was practically inevitable from that point that Bourdain would kill himself.

That West Virginia episode of Parts Unknown is quality programming. I don't know any other food adventurer, coastal elite who would go out of his way to attend a high school football game in middle American and enjoy himself. He seemed to be open and receptive to people of all walks of life.
Just went and watched this episode. Amazing storytelling who got both sides of the story. Journalists could actually learn a lot from this episode. Don't understand the hate.

It wasn't terrible. Yeah I guess he was a bit of a prick but it was cool seeing all the food and different places around the world.

He had a young daughter. It isn't just your own life you are ruining.

Could Bourdain even cook well? He was basically famous because of Kitchen Confidential but I can’t recall ever seeing the guy actually cook. He was always a judge
I saw on one of his shows where he cooked some duck for some baws in Missouri or Arkansas who said they'd never eaten any of the ducks they shoot because they were disgusting. He made that duck look amazing.
Him and several rednecks in a trailer eating duck and pounding cheap beer.

Never ever ever ever date or marry actresses, models, musicians, influencers, or any other narcissist that believes the world owes them attention.
I guess include any woman that frequently uses social media. Who's left?
The key is not to get attached like this guy did. But every guy isn't wired that way. He had one-itis. For some money doesn't change that.

Queen MeToo has spoken
Daily Mail
They clearly saw the relationship differently. She was just having a fling with an old man.

'People need to think that he killed himself for something like this? He had cheated on me too. It wasn't a problem for us.
'He was a man who traveled 265 days a year when we saw each other we took really great pleasure in each other's company. But we are not children. We are grown ups.
'Anthony was 62 [his suicide was shortly before his 62nd birthday]. I was 42.
'We had lives, we had wives and husbands, we had children. I cannot think of Anthony as somebody who would do an extreme gesture like this for something like that.'
