So you know Cotulla?
I think we need an idea of the buck quality.

I’d do it but i love hunting and the outdoors. No brainer for me

Whats the water situation there like?

Is it a working ranch and do you work it?
I grew up on a family ranch, the last piece was sold going on almost a 10 years now. I still regularly have dreams about the ranch and would literally give my right nut to be able to afford to buy it back.
Granted our property was the nicest in that whole area of the state and it is overall one of if not the best areas in the state to live.
Long story short, live on the ranch.
Oh and let me come hunt? I'll do all the bitch work and only shoot culls, dove and quail.

I'm in my mid 20s now. Not planning to move down there until I have some money saved. 5 years probably. No kids or wife

It's not close to big bend, I wish it was though. It's pretty far south

I would be really wary about anyone that you hire or find crossing through the ranch.
If it’s not too far from the border, chances are people associated with the cartel are around the area

It's not cotulla, but for the sake of this conversation it is very very similar to cotulla.
Cotulla is the best hunting in south Texas right? It is not quite on par with that, but very very very close

It is a dry part of Texas that is effected by drought but the water is safe to drink and there are troughs for the cattle.

Growing up, we had a small weekend ranch near Freer. You couldn’t pay me enough money to ever want to live there now. Ugly country and the open border has made it even more lawless than it was then. Hill Country is a million times better place to retire to a ranch.

It's up there. I grew up hunting on a ranch a little west of town then also hunted for a while off of 624 to the southeast toward Freer.

My grandfather did for about 50 years. He leases it now. It has been a working ranch for about 100 years.

Yea when I think STX I guess I am envisioning more like Uvalde, I could live on a ranch in that area.

Border patrol has keys to the ranch. There have been a few incidents but nothing horrible. It is definitely a concern though.

My one question is, how good is the hunting?
Kinda good or better = yes I would live there.

It is basically Freer. If it was Uvalde I wouldn't have started this thread as that is a much better area imo.

Dilley then. Same difference.

Maybe I should have just said the town. It is basically Freer.
