Even just with that brief interview we know what they were wearing, a general physical description, that they were on foot and weren't laying in ambush, which direction they came from etc. Seems like that would all be pretty damn important information that the police would want as soon as possible.

I wonder who called 911. There must've been someone else in the area. Isn't this basically the edge of Red Stick Social's parking lot? That parking lot would've have a lot of people in it at 2 AM.

And if it was at a complete stop the whole time/if the train never gave any indication that it was GOING to move, then neither Allie nor the witness would have likely waited at the crossing at 2am at all….

It also makes sense that there was no urgency when hoodie people saw her and the train both stopped. They were able to talk things over a bit, and come up with a plan of action. When the train started moving, they approached her and she refused to roll down window. They then shot her.
This could have easily taken up the time between when they were spotted and the sound of gunshots.

I was rhetorically addressing Havoc’s comment about the suspects chances of being able to jump the tracks with a moving train.
I was pointing out that a moving train would not be an obstacle if it were moving slow enough. So the fact that the train is moving in the audio (or at least how the audio has been interpreted) doesn’t preclude the possibility of the suspects jumping the tracks.

We already know they jumped the tracks before the shooting. It was witnessed.
Could they have crossed back after? I'm sure eventually they could have.

if you're implying that a 911 call was made immediately after the incident, i believe its been stated that police were summoned by a report from a shot tracer. Not a live person. No one called this in that night. Cops found her deceased in the car.

He did not see their faces. He will not be picking them out of a line-up or ID'ing them in court. His credibility will not be in question.
His value is to simply establish a somewhat accurate timeline and to describe the events as they happened, so the police can go about solving the crime with a good idea of what transpired. This prevents them wasting time on other stupid theories like serial killers, jilted lovers, road rage, stalkers, etc.
