Came home and found fridge door ajar -- what would you do? (PIC)

i was freaked out and ready to rake everything into the trash until i touched a few items and they were still cool.
i'm sure you already figured it out but it was the damn 40w bulb which is apparently located right next to the temp gauge. i went ahead swapped the bulbs out for LEDs.
i had no idea any fridge sold in the last 10 years still came with incandescent bulbs.

I would close the door and go about my day

I would throw out the entire fridge

Add a wireless temperature monitor so if/when this happens again you have a little more warning.

You still aging rib racks in there? A temp of 112 is a little high, no?

How long did you stage the items before taking the pic?

if the door wasnt wide open then it stayed cold and jusrt ran nonstop the whole time.
give the stuff in the door a careful check is all i would do, the stuff on the door was the least cold and that may have spoiled the eggs and milk

112?
Did you also leave the oven door ajar with it running?

i mentioned in the OP i realized a few seconds later it must have been due to the lightbulb being on all day right next to the temp sensor.

Do you not have storage in your doors? Everything in that picture save the eggs and bread go in the door.

I'd Unplug the whole thing for a few days then plug it back in. throw away the perishables.
my kids left the garage fridge open a while back, all I had was beverages in the fridge side with a little food in the freezer. I just closed the door and went about my business. well the fridge wouldn't get any cooler than 57 degrees for several days after. I googled the issue and google told me the fridge gets cool from the freezer with a little damper that opens when needed and what probably happened is the damper is frozen solid. Not enough air coming over to the fridge side. So I moved the food out the freezer and unplugged the unit for two days to thaw out. Plugged the fridge back in and its been working fine ever since.
So, not sure how long your fridge door was ajar, but if it doesn't get back cold after a while don't freak out, it might just be a frozen damper, just unplug it and let it thaw.

You’ll be fine, just close it.

Toss everything except for the dry aging steaks.

People who enjoy wearing covid masks would throw everything out.
Everyone else would just close the door.

Feed some of it to your husband. If he croaks, throw it away.
