Anyone notice that the Dems quietly punted on the Gay Marriage bill

Turns out there were tons of Republicans down with some Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Dems were not expecting the support.

This goes to show yet again, that the Dems are not sincere in any of their actions. It's all political posturing. Instead of getting their bill passed that apparently is so important to their base, they pass on it because it isn't politically expedient for them at this time.

Also, for the pro-groomer agenda Republicans. I realize you just blow with the wind, and the LGBT agenda winds are really strong right now, but this bill is a complete Trojan horse. Once this this bill is signed, and it will probably be eventually, it will give the Feds the framework to go after churches. This is what it is all about.

If gay marriage is so important, deal with it on the state level. Like so much of everything else, it is not a federal issue.

They want to use it as something they can run on to fire up their base. If they pass it before the midterms those voters won’t have a reason to turn out

Why do that when Lindsey is about to pour 94 octane on the abortion fire?

ffuucckk, you people just lie with every breath you take.

dems are trying to codify same-sex marriage protections into law so trumps supreme court cant toss out the protections it has now like they did Roe. dems need 10 republican votes to do that. they dont have 10 republican votes, that support you think the dems werent expecting does not exist.

this isnt going up for a vote because, as of now, the vote will fail. its that simple.

Why would a gay marry? They can't have a family

How is it in the purview of the Congress to define marriage at the state level. How is this not a violation of the 10th Ammendment?

Yes they do. They likely have about 30 or 40. I wish it were 0, but I realize I am probably in the minority right now on this issue. But it still should be up to the states regardless of your stance on gay marriage

You believe this? You don't think the Dems would use that to wedge voters if they knew the Reps were going to sink it. They would love to do that.

Why do these need to be subsidized by states? I don't believe gay marriage improves the quality of life in my state. And I certainly don't believe it's worthy of paying more in taxes (money I could use to support my own family) to subsidize two fudge packers who want to larp and play house with kids who aren't theirs.

Spousal benefits

True, but it’s also part of normalizing that lifestyle choice.

I really think you are confusing the House and the Senate…

A marriage is between a man and a woman.

Any Republican supporting or codifying the degeneracy of homo-marriage will never under any circumstances get my vote. Even if they are running against the most vile marxist to crawl out from under a rock.

Just the fact that America has already sunk to such depraved depths as to legally recognize the perverted farce of two dudes cohabitating as the equivalent of a husband-and-wife is already an argument that makes me question whether the preservation of this nation is even a goal I particularly care about at this point.

Bingo! Most of the liberal agenda should NOT be addressed by the federal government.

Do you feel this way about all adoptive parents, or only the gay ones?

You mean civil union, a legal term for division of assets and rights. Marriage is for a man and a woman with religious faith.

Fricking groomer.

We know what comes next, you liar. It was never about having the right to marry. It was about compelled support and promotion for the lifestyle, religious beliefs notwithstanding. It has been a non-stop assault since Obergefell.

The gay ones specifically. Kids need a mother and a father. I realize that's not always possible as people die or become neglectful or abusive in some cases. But if we can provide kids with an adoptive situation of a Mom and Dad, that is the next best option. I never understood the desire for gays, who engage in behavior that is anti-reproductive, to have such a desire to adopt or even worse use surrogacy to create some LARP family to make themselves feel good.

This surprises me. You are normally very empathetic.
