The only thing I disagree with is saying Bech needs to play more. If you trade out Bech for Emery the defense is going to adjust. I don’t know what the coaches are doing, but they are getting the matchups they want. Also, maybe Bech is dinged or something.

Pocket presence

He had three sacks, no interceptions, and produced over 300 yards of total O. He had a rushing touchdown exactly because of his pocket presence. His QBR far overshadowed that of Rogers.

No doubt he has his shortcomings to this point in time, but I think some of this dislike for his quarterback abilities is more than a little over blown at this time.

He needs to read the field much better.

He doesn't make bad decisions...thats his best attribute.

His indecisiveness kills this team's potential.

I think your special teams take is overheated.

They’ve improved since the first game. Not perfect…but look across the landscape of college football and you have seen the same sort of thing everywhere.

Coverage teams are very coachable…they’ll fix that. It isn’t that bad.

Punt returner I’m pretty sure thought the one ball he jumped on hit one of our players.

All these teams are littered with guys that don’t start on a team that doesn’t have depth. Is what it is.

My concern is Daniels has played a ton and I don’t see him improving at this point.

This. He's started 30+ games. He is what he is. Our coaches will just have to do their best to scheme to his strengths and minimize his weaknesses.

ST feel shaky everywhere…nothing in the return game, poor coverages, bad decisions, all FG seem to be very close to being blocked…no positives on ST at all.

Agree 100%, but Polian is Kelly's BBQ buddy and isn't going anywhere.

Daniels makes up his mind who he is going to throw it to before he even breaks the huddle. If they're open (like they were vs Southern) he hits them and he looks like an SEC QB. But if the person he's set on throwing it to is covered, he looks like a deer in headlights and holds the ball until protection breaks down so he can run - even if his 2nd or 3rd read are wide open!

The poor special teams play must be a symptom of a team that had very poor depth going into spring and still lacks numbers.

I mean that isn't an excuse.

Mcmahon had them balling with less depth last yr.

Polian is an idiot and a predator.
Dude looks like he will pop up on a "to catch a predator" episode any day now.

Daniels athleticism is unparalleled. He can turn a busted play into a 9 yard gain with his legs and out run corners to the edge. With that said - his lack of pocket presence, poor mechanics and piss poor field vision are going to cost us some games.

Agreed on these points. But I do think it goes away if you call the game differently. Let Daniels do the quick 1 read stuff (2 minute) and then once his confidence is sky high go down the field more. I like Daniels a lot if we can maximize his skill set.

I’m not sure JD can change.

But Nuss might be able to stop the gunslinger int machine.

But. If WH is that good, might as well burn it.

Some fans have such an odd fixation with the fifth WR on the depth chart

Not as odd as having a fixation on a coach that is no longer coaching the team like your fixation with Coach O.
