Work trip in this area. Anything to do between these areas?
Places to eat? Best lobster rolls? Coastal towns?
Anyone been to Block island, RI? Co worker says to spend a night there
Will be driving mainly along cost. Can venture into Maine on a day off too.

New Haven is an absolute shithole outside of Yale’s campus.
There are lots of great places to see in RI, including Block Island. I would definitely recommend you spend some time in Newport. Make sure to get some Dell’s. In all of my time in RI I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a lobster roll, but if you’re in Newport, go to The Mooring and get the bag o’ donuts. Trust me.

White clam pizza at Pepe’s.

I like providence but I would prioritize Newport over it.

Middletown, CT is really pretty. Good restaurants, too.
Mystic, CT has a great vibe, good eats, and plenty of things to do.
New Haven sucks. It’s basically an NYC exburb. It’s not charming in any way.
Drive the back roads whenever you can. Gorgeous gorgeous quintessential NE countryside.

I like the pizza in New Haven, but I really didn’t care for this particular pizza.

Sticky bun at Sift bakery.

I have never been to Pepe’s , but I know it is famous for that style. I love making them at home, but would like to eat one there for the experience.

Well if your hitting Pepe's and Sally's then you need to hit the trifecta by getting a slice at Modern Apizza. Would love a review if you do. Those 3 places are the only reason I've ever heard anyone bring up New Haven CT.

Kind of random that they have a world class bakery right there. Mystic pizza, on the other hand, was a disappointment.

Steamed burgers are a thing there. Not a fan

Newport is pretty awesome. Big houses to tour. Harbor area is nice. Church where JFK and Jackie got married is there. Her family estate is there. Tour the Breakers and several other houses.

I always got a kick out of ‘Pistol Waving New Haven’.

All Connecticut pizza is a disappointment. I don't know how so many places in New Haven make the best pizza lists. I've eaten at many of them and I can get better pizza in Dallas. They are as over rated as Lobster rolls

Mystic is pretty similar to a place like Pass Christian. There’s honestly not a ton to do in the way of attractions. It’s a very scenic coastal town with a small handful of restaurants and a couple bars. Outside of the boat out into sound, sift bakery, a nice seafood restaurant right by the draw bridge, there’s not a ton. If it’s on your way and you need a laid back stop over, or even a day trip , I would recommend it, but just know what kind of destination it is. When we were there during the day we went to new london ct for lobster rolls at
Captain Scott’s to kill time.
Providence has a lot more to do being a city but it’s been a long time since I’ve spent time there. The area immediately around Brown is very historic and there’s a big Portuguese food scene which we don’t have here, but I can’t tell you any specifics.
