You absolutely can measure improvement. Special teams players lining up correctly, wide receivers not dropping passes, punt returners catching the ball, etc.

Correct

And unblocked southern player can block a low late kick just as well as an unblocked FSU player.

1. Special teams fixes across the board.

2. Getting the QBs comfortable early so they are reading the defense and finding open guys.

3. Defense, especially the LBs and Safeties, reading the play and closing down space faster in zone.

Number 3 will be vital to prepare for State the following week.

Offensive line play HAS to improve or this will another losing season .

Would love to see the rbs used more with short passes and check downs.

I think Malik will be fine back there, not hitting the panic button just yet.

Score more points than Southern. Play everybody on the bench. Restore confidence in special teams play.

1. Special Teams
2. O Line getting on the same page and understanding assignments and their teammates better.
3. Either JD working on his 2nd and 3rd read or working on the RPO.

You will not be able to tell anything from this game. It might jump start someones confidence, but thats about it.

500 yards of offense at least. We should have at least 1 RB with 100 yards plus whatever Daniels gets. No reason he can’t throw for 300 too.

Defense needs to get pressure with 4 and LBers need to step up.

Start simple.

Catch all punts.
Improve in trenches.

If you guys do that you will out talent the bad teams on your schedule.

Don't bet on star wrs under Kelly, he seems to ostricize them more than motivate them.

I saw improvement from 1st to second half last week which was encouraging. No doubt the coaches now have a better understanding of who can do what and who can't and focus on those areas during practice week. I expect us to have better pass protection combined with better routes and play calling. I also want to see improved play from our LB's which is why we had trouble getting off the field on 3rd down. And better special teams play.

I really hope Emery is the answer starting next week because I didn't see anything out of the other RB's that makes me think LSU can sustain a viable running game in SEC play

That's on the OLine, not the backs. With a good OLine you can have Moe, Shemp and Curly as running backs and gain a few yards.

With the OLine blocking we saw against FSU, you could have Hershel Walker and Touchdown Lenny in the backfield at the same time and not be able to run successfully.

The only reason Daniels was so successful with his feet was because he was running out of broken plays.

Fix the OLine problems and our backs will be just fine.

1) OL improvement
2). Get off the field on defense on third down
3) drastic improvement in special teams
Honorable mention
1) commit to the run early to try and give the OL some confidence
2) Denbrock puts a premium on pushing the ball down the field ( will need to do this well in SEC play to be successful and to spread defenses out ).
