Hand held gas blower for leaves

Anyone have a gas hand held they like for leaves and basic stuff around the house? I have a battery powered black and decker which isn’t useful, but don’t want to spend on a backpack blower. I’ve seen a few Stihl handhelds that were well reviewed? I’m looking for something that will get used primarily in fall to blow off the driveway and blow leaves in the yard into piles.

I had a battery black and decker that was a piece of crap and almost ruined battery equipment for me. The I got a battery stihl which has been awesome. More powerful than my last gas one.

Got an Echo. Like my Echo weed eater that I've had for 19 years, it's dependable as the day is long.

I use a cheap gas blower from Wal-Mart. I use it for exactly what you will be doing . Going on 3rd year . Just me .

funny you posted this. My normally reliable Stihl decided to stop running yesterday. Now its sitting with two other Stihl seedeaters that I replace the carbs on a few months ago...and still dont run.
I was thinking about getting Ecos

Been running a Husqvarna handheld for several years. When it gives up the ghost, I may consider electric. My old house was a corner lot with a bunch of trees and id damn near burn through a tank of gas during each use. New house is alot less to deal with.

have the hitachi gas blower. Works fine but something about the angle to the pull cord for me. Have been thru 3 or 4 of the pull cords. I have had to replace the mechanism each time. Couldn't take apart and put back together. Even local mower shop couldn't get it back together.
So basically - don't get it.

An ego battery blower was my gateway drug to the dark side. It is so much better than a gas blower. Get at least the 650cfm, I'd get the new one with two 5ah batteries if I needed one now, but it is pricey.
My ego stuff is so easy to use my wife will use it. That never happened when I had all gas stuff. I use to have Honda powered everything, even my string trimmer was a 4 stroke honda.

Stihl base model is enough. Echo makes good ones also.

I have an Hitachi as well and agree about the pull cord being weird although I haven’t broken any in the 2-3 years I’ve had it. Always cranks rather easily and gets the job done so I can’t really complain too much.

I went EGO and never went back. Blower, weed eater (automatic string loader is amazing), and chainsaw (I only have one oak on my property, and a lot of other smaller trees similar to Crape Myrtles, and it’s got plenty of power). I am a convert. Amazing

I'm a big Stihl fan, so I purchased the BG86 blower. Lots of power, but ended up giving out. Since Stihl makes good shite, I thought it was a one off. Nope, next one failed in a similar manner. Keep in mind that the unit was used daily (wife is OCD) and it took a couple years to fail.
Decided to go Echo on the latest one and it has held up very well thus far. About a year in on it.

Clean your spark arrestors and restore your faith in Stihl bud lol.
To the Op, Stihl, Echo, etc etc. Buy local from a mom and pop shop that can service it.

I bought a Snapper blower. The model is an 82 volt max. Has a trigger like a gas blower. I blow my whole yard after mowing and have never run out of power. Supposed to last 40 minutes per charge. The battery is a briggs and stratton. I highly recommend. Good power, light weight and no worries about pulling on a rope.

Unfortunately they were all clean. I may have to dig a little deeper on them

I really appreciate the feedback. I’m going to look for a local shop that sells the Stihl or Echo. If anyone has a recommendation on the Southside of ATL, I’ll gladly take it!
