Director Swapped Movies

I'm watching Collateral for the umpteenth time and the question occurred to me, "what favorite movies of yours would you want to see a version of made by another director?" For instance, I would love to see a version of Training Day directed by Michael Mann. Or maybe a version of Heat directed by Guy Ritchie. You get the idea.

I want to see what would have happened if "Solo" was directed by Miller and Lord instead of Ron Howard.

Tarantino doing a retro Bond movie
John Milius somehow wrote a John Wick screenplay
Kubrick had completed Shadow on the Sun.

After reading this thread before I went out to do some errands, I thought about this subject a bit. I figured swapping QT (both ways) was going to be popular. I honestly think there are better movies for a Wes Anderson swap, a more colorful period piece like Once Upon a Time would be better than IB, imho.
I'm still thinking of some mid grade/bad movies that had solid bones and just needed a better hand guiding it. I'm trying to avoid derivations (Ex. Michael Mann doing a Heat clone like The Town or Den of Thieves).
James Wan directing Signs could be legit.
John Carpenter and Event Horizon
Alex Garland and Prometheus
I'm going to think of some more.

Sam Peckinpah would be a good one for Heat. Saving Private Ryan, also, really.
