Mason Smith will wreak havoc.
He is an Aaron Donald type of physical specimen.

I look forward to seeing him play.

Once Daronte Jones decided to play an aggressive attacking D the defense actually played well last season.

FIFY Once CEO allowed Daronte Jones play an aggressive attacking D the defense actually played well last season.

Once the light went on for Mike Jones, Jr. last year, the defense started playing much better. ETA: I meant Clarke, but the same is true about Jones.

It had nothing to do with Jones and Clarke; the light that went on was in Ed Orgeron’s head when the Ole Miss coach told him that everyone knew his defensive plays because they were predictable.

Keep in mind this was the game following the embarrassing loss to Ole Miss where Lane Kiffin informed Coach O that they were running the same defense with the same front every play. Once the defense became more multiple, we saw how good they could be.

Hopefully House keeps his word on playing multiple fronts to keep offenses guessing.

I don't care what anyone says about "almost" this and that.
That frickin game was fun. Absolutely nothing to lose and made those Gump fricks' buttholes pucker for 58 minutes on the field and over 3 hours in real life.
That was a great feeling of pride and fulfillment. frick the score.

It’s insane young won a heisman considering how bad we made him look.

We blitzed that game with no fear of losing. Rarely do we play anyone with that much disregard for defending the pass. Alabama was also very mediocre on OL.

And, it was a total break from our tendancies.

We completely caught Bama unprepared.

kendall Beckwith
He was a stud. I think he would have had a solid pro career had he not gotten injured. I'll never forget his stop against Ole Miss, I think it was a critical third or fourth down and it looked like the OM ball carrier was going to get the first down. He had a yard or two in the open field an it looked like Beckwith would meet him right at the marker and I figured he'd fall forward and pick it up. Nope, Beckwith closed, the dude never got to the marker and went backward. It was bad arse.

Thanks for sharing the video link… when a D-lineman does does that right in the middle of your offense, it really messes up a lot of stuff. Good to see Neil getting off to a good start!

Had we won that game. Bama would have been a 2 loss SEC champ and Georgia would still be 1 loss. Would UGA have gotten in but not Bama?

Would have been a crazy butterfly effect. Alabama wouldn’t have gotten in the playoff and the number 5 team end of season would have jumped them. The number 5 team if I remember correctly was Notre Dame. I seriously doubt BK jumps ship heading into the playoffs so LSU would have someone else on the sidelines this year.

I don't know. Mich would have been 1. UGA and ND would have been 2 and 3 cuz I don't see them putting Cincy above 4. So he'd have played UGA and been destroyed. His issues were still the same, he couldn't compete with ND.

THIS. He was additive to the overall defense, no doubt.

DL gets most of the press, but our LB's - Jones, Penn, Baskerville, Weeks and yes FR Perkins - comprise a superb position group with size and speed. Front 7 is going to be solid all season, and make the DB's even better.

Bama rushed for 0.2 yards per carry. 308 total yards and 302 were thrown by Bryce Young.

Daronte Jones was allowed to actually call HIS defense and bring much more pressure than he was previously allowed during the season.

Also, Bama’s O-Line wasn’t great last year. Our D-Line will be much improved, yes … but so will their O-Line

Also Bama's gameplan didn't take in to account the 95%+ blitzing cuz we previously were blitzing like 3% of the time. So their prep was way off.

Well they looked like shite vs Auburn who ran the same game plan. Also our D played Arkansas better than anyone else did last year. Arky scored 35 vs Bama and only 10 vs us in regulation

Gentleman, the Bama game last year was a fluke. LSU was no threat to Bama and They weren’t motivated. But it’s over.
