Jewelry and diamonds are marked up 50 to 100% most of the time. I’d try a small jeweler to see what he’d offer you as a gauge. Shop a few.

Whether you sell it or keep it, it sounds like you got out a whole lot cheaper than a divorce. Condolences and congratulations.

What is the best way to sale jewelry and what can I expect to get for it? According to the papers it's "retail value" is $7500 but what would someone likely pay for it?

Have someone stage a break-in after insuring the ring. It'll never be worth more than that

I paid 12.5k for a ring for my now ex wife at Christmas. The following July she sold it for $1800.

I was more pissed about that then our impending divorce

And she's still living?

It’s “Sail”, first step it get a sailboat, from there you need to get jewelry. Once that is all good to go, it’s easy, just take the jewelry on a nice evening cruise on the water.

Diamonds are not rare. Companies keep them locked away and only release 1/20th of them to keep supply down. So glad my wife hates jewelry. Diamonds are a waste of money.

At one time DeBeers was spending a couple hundred million a year on ad campaigns designed to convince women that if the guy didn’t spend x times salary for a diamond they don’t love you, and thatvs used/preowned diamond was basically worthless.

Ha, my wife realized this but 12 years too late it seems. Decided she wanted to sell it and do something cool (see my post on the travel board) but sounds like we won't be doing much with it lol.

You may try checking back at the place you bought from, some companies offer previous buyers a “buy back” program, I bought from Ritani and they offer a buy back, it doesn’t say how much they’ll pay or if it’s based on a percentage of appraisal value. Might be worth a try

That’s a pretty decent diamond. What is the cut and cut quality? Is it GIA rated with papers?

I would lose it in a boating accident if I were you.

Assuming of course it was insured.

No clue on value. You’ll have to research it. Like they say, only worth what someone will pay. I’d try to sell it to smaller jewelers first to see what they say.

Brilliant cut, approximate H-I color with VS-2 clarity is all I can see. Appraised a few times 8650 in 83 and 15.5 in 07
