B1G Lands $7 Billion Media Deal with Fox, NBC, CBS

USA Today
CBS B1G Music Intro!!
The report also shows that the deal will grow to 10 billion for expansion. So the B1G is absolutely not done expanding. This is massive!!! Also, it was reported today that the remaining PAC schools are set to lose $13 mill a year. It will be even more of a loss once the B1G expands again and adds Oregon and Washington. Now that the raw numbers are out, expect conference expansion to heat up again. Remember, the deal reaches 10 billion with expansion.

Yep, all those Big10 sports events that I was watching on the previous channel will now just be on this other channel instead.

The Big Ten is making the SEC irrelevant.

There’s no way you believe this.
Let us know when the Big Ten actually wins national championships more than once every 10 years.

I really thought the college sports bubble was going to explode a couple of years ago.
I have to say, I hope the conference doesn't get turned mostly into 3:30 and night games. B1G football is meant to be played at noon.

Are you not familiar with NIL?
He who has the most money will get the most talented players.
The SEC is circling the drain.
SEC fans are whistling through the graveyard.

unfortunately, ESPN has conditioned America to believe that noon games are shitty, and fans want to tailgate at least a little
when i think of noon games i think of Jefferson Pilot and Pam Ward and Beth Mowins

The SEC gets about 800 million per year to share between 14 teams.
This isn't a huge gap.
ETA: We'd have to see the increase breakdown to determine how large the gap is. But SEC should get something similar when they add OU and UT.

Kids from the south or western U.S. don't want to play in fricking West Lafayette, IN or Iowa City. Your geography blows.
The SEC will always enjoy the best talent.

Yea because one year means everything. Give this 5-10 years, then let’s talk. This manifestation won’t happen over night, but the B1G is absolutely about to take another step up. With NIL, the B1G will be able to compete with anybody for talent. This is the first step. Expansion is coming again soon in the B1G and SEC. The CFP is having discussions with governing outside of the NCAA model. The B1G/SEC CFP era is underway!!

The contracts are just now being signed.
The money from said deals is not yet in the pockets of the Big Ten schools.
The shift in the next decade will be massive.
The SEC is going to be like the small market baseball teams trying to compete every year with the larger markets with the bigger tv deals etc.
It's happening.
If you can't see what's coming you are either stupid or in denial.

With this tv deal maybe B1G teams will be able to keep it within 30 when they play southern schools in the CFP
